  1. I don't like that this is considered a plan. Slaves to need i think it's ok when the team can contend for a superbowl by addressing said needs. i agree that long term i always want the best value but this team has got a legitimate window. I hope they aren't viewing this as a window. As in, its the NFL, so as long as you have a good coach and a good QB, there is no such thing as a window? Or like the Bears aren't a legitimate SB threat?
  2. I don't like that this is considered a plan. Slaves to need Well its a good thing it was a pretty good DT board, but I agree.
  3. forgot about collins don't even know who the hell bass and washington are lol Bass played about 30% of the Bears defensive snaps...
  4. I want an offensive skill player now because they're not particularly deep there. Yes. I can't stop stop thinking about how lucky we were last year with injuries, despite having Jay miss so much time. We basically ran with a 13 man offensive unit- occasionally subbing in a 3rd WR or a OL as an eligible receiver. Crazy.
  5. Nate Collins and David Bass. Sounds like a set 10 man rotation. Edit- forgot about Washington too. I was pretty excited about the potential with that pick last year, but it can't be a good sign he never could get on the field. I'm sure he's gone.
  6. Nicely have built up that DLine. Get Will to play at his lower/quicker weight.
  7. Of offensive guys, Martavis Bryant seems like an Emery type receiver. I'm sure it will be someone random though, and not one of the "best avaiable"
  8. Oh and Nix if he continues to drop. Also I think Pierre Desir might have had a visit. At 3, I wouldn't mine Terrence Brooks now. Baushad Breeland, Kieth McGill, also look good if they last. I know this is a deep offensive draft, but still liking defensive names as of now.
  9. I definitely wouldn't mind some offense at this point, though with the RB run going on not sure this will be where we grab a RB. But we can't really complain if he goes D again. Going by known visits: Will Sutton, DT (more a 3-Tech so wouldn't even be doubling up) Gabe Ikard, C Zach Fulton, OG Marqueston Huff, S The latter three are more 4th round prospects but that doesn't necessarily mean much.
  10. You don't even know if trades were available.
  11. Tie breaker thing. Chicago was one of 6-8 teams at 8-8. They got the first pick in Rd 1 and then shuffle through.
  12. And so was Shea McClellin McClellin wasn't a reach. He was a late riser but plenty of guys had him in that range by draft time, just for a 3-4 team.
  13. He doesn't even need those glasses, they're just to look quirky.
  14. Yea I'm not worried about Kiper McShay rankings. Does seem like they could have dropped down but there hasn't been much action here so if there's nothing there you can't help it.
  15. He leaves Jernigan and Hageman on the board still. I'd prefer one of those in Kiper's scenario.
  16. I always just do a google search for the actual headlines and the links always seem to work from there. Yea I know that works in the desktop (plus I can always put on my hola add-on). But doesn't always work on my phone though. Got it to work this time. Hit or miss it seems.
  17. A) That is not necessarily more realistic. B) That is not necessarily the point of this exercise. Obviously pre-draft talk/rumor is always up for scrutiny, but almost all signs point to it being a QB. I'll be pretty surprised if it's not. If Clowney is taken I'll gladly eat crow for buying too much into the pre-draft rumors. It seems pretty obvious the direction they'll go at the moment Eat it Gladly. I should post funnier or more accurate jokes. My failure to do either is an embarrassment to myself and insult to your diligence in mockery/mocking (unsure of what mock is short for).
  18. I know it's been posted a bunch about getting around the Trib's pay wall but is there an easy way on my phone as well? I never seem to get around it there.
  19. The versatility talk is about how he can play outside as well as in the slot, cover tight ends and receivers, plus make tackles on run plays and blitz. It's not about being a safety. I think it's both things though I may feel differently if our S spots didn't look so shaky already. The temptation could be strong. And I wouldn't even care if they just felt that was his best long term spot, but don't want him being a bandaid for our weak S if CB is his best long term spot.
  20. Its a mistake to write him off but also a mistake to not have a better contingency than we currently have. Someone like Brooks in the second would be a reach talent wise, but we should definitely look for a 3rd or 4th round prospect that could step in if needed. It's not totally uncommon to find replacement level S play late- you'll have to accept some type of flaw. But the concern is Conte not making it back to his replacement level play of 11/12. I suppose they figure Fuller could be the contingency, but I don't really like starting his career at S if they think he's a CB long term.
  21. It's weird because this is the first time the Bears have taken exactly who I wanted. Fuller's probably my second favorite high round pick in the last five years besides Alshon Jeffery (good call) and just ahead of the Gabe Carimi pick (whoops). That was how I felt about Bryant last year. I can't remember but I think David Terrell may be the last time that happened for me with the Bears. I wanted Olsen. Oh good call I did like that one as well. It is a little sad how between the Cutler trade, a couple botched OL picks and the trade of Olsen we really had a drought of top prospect picks to be excited about.
  22. So I know they say he has a narrow frame, but he is a legit 6 feet with great leaping ability and some apparent ball skills. I don't think we need to worry about size. He looks to have all the size you need to match up against most WR. I am a little worried about the versatility talk. I'd really like to see him stick to a spot, so hopefully we'll see him strictly as a CB/nickel back and not move back to S barring necessity due to injuries. Out if the safeties left their knocks are mainly just that they are not well rounded. I think we can get a decent coverage safety or a decent box safety in Rd 3 or 4 still. I'd lean towards preferring a coverage guy as I think there's a few more and then you can push Conte. I'd feel pretty confident with Mundy starting as the more "SS" type, and Steltz/Jennings competing and as backups. Conte should still be salvageable but with the surgery we need some competition and all our other safeties are less coverage inclined guys.
  23. Last one for me might be Cade McNown. I was like 12 though. Fuller is like Carimi for me- liked the pick but was somewhat indifferent if they had gone another direction based on what else was there.
  24. Haha I'm sure he's just trying to be positive but if he really thinks whatever he saw is an indication he's in for a rude awakening.
  25. I think you are misinterpreting what people have said. I see a couple people who hate the pick because he wasn't a safety, some people who really like it and some who are just fine with it. I'm just fine with it in the sense that I would have been equally happy with Dix or Pryor. But I do really like the prospect. I don't think he was any safer or riskier than Dix or Pryor. It was all preference/style. As prospects that had pretty similar risk/reward. If anything Dix was the safest, both in a vacuum and specific to the Bears.
