  1. He leaves Jernigan and Hageman on the board still. I'd prefer one of those in Kiper's scenario.
  2. I always just do a google search for the actual headlines and the links always seem to work from there. Yea I know that works in the desktop (plus I can always put on my hola add-on). But doesn't always work on my phone though. Got it to work this time. Hit or miss it seems.
  3. A) That is not necessarily more realistic. B) That is not necessarily the point of this exercise. Obviously pre-draft talk/rumor is always up for scrutiny, but almost all signs point to it being a QB. I'll be pretty surprised if it's not. If Clowney is taken I'll gladly eat crow for buying too much into the pre-draft rumors. It seems pretty obvious the direction they'll go at the moment Eat it Gladly. I should post funnier or more accurate jokes. My failure to do either is an embarrassment to myself and insult to your diligence in mockery/mocking (unsure of what mock is short for).
  4. I know it's been posted a bunch about getting around the Trib's pay wall but is there an easy way on my phone as well? I never seem to get around it there.
  5. The versatility talk is about how he can play outside as well as in the slot, cover tight ends and receivers, plus make tackles on run plays and blitz. It's not about being a safety. I think it's both things though I may feel differently if our S spots didn't look so shaky already. The temptation could be strong. And I wouldn't even care if they just felt that was his best long term spot, but don't want him being a bandaid for our weak S if CB is his best long term spot.
  6. Its a mistake to write him off but also a mistake to not have a better contingency than we currently have. Someone like Brooks in the second would be a reach talent wise, but we should definitely look for a 3rd or 4th round prospect that could step in if needed. It's not totally uncommon to find replacement level S play late- you'll have to accept some type of flaw. But the concern is Conte not making it back to his replacement level play of 11/12. I suppose they figure Fuller could be the contingency, but I don't really like starting his career at S if they think he's a CB long term.
  7. It's weird because this is the first time the Bears have taken exactly who I wanted. Fuller's probably my second favorite high round pick in the last five years besides Alshon Jeffery (good call) and just ahead of the Gabe Carimi pick (whoops). That was how I felt about Bryant last year. I can't remember but I think David Terrell may be the last time that happened for me with the Bears. I wanted Olsen. Oh good call I did like that one as well. It is a little sad how between the Cutler trade, a couple botched OL picks and the trade of Olsen we really had a drought of top prospect picks to be excited about.
  8. So I know they say he has a narrow frame, but he is a legit 6 feet with great leaping ability and some apparent ball skills. I don't think we need to worry about size. He looks to have all the size you need to match up against most WR. I am a little worried about the versatility talk. I'd really like to see him stick to a spot, so hopefully we'll see him strictly as a CB/nickel back and not move back to S barring necessity due to injuries. Out if the safeties left their knocks are mainly just that they are not well rounded. I think we can get a decent coverage safety or a decent box safety in Rd 3 or 4 still. I'd lean towards preferring a coverage guy as I think there's a few more and then you can push Conte. I'd feel pretty confident with Mundy starting as the more "SS" type, and Steltz/Jennings competing and as backups. Conte should still be salvageable but with the surgery we need some competition and all our other safeties are less coverage inclined guys.
  9. Last one for me might be Cade McNown. I was like 12 though. Fuller is like Carimi for me- liked the pick but was somewhat indifferent if they had gone another direction based on what else was there.
  10. Haha I'm sure he's just trying to be positive but if he really thinks whatever he saw is an indication he's in for a rude awakening.
  11. I think you are misinterpreting what people have said. I see a couple people who hate the pick because he wasn't a safety, some people who really like it and some who are just fine with it. I'm just fine with it in the sense that I would have been equally happy with Dix or Pryor. But I do really like the prospect. I don't think he was any safer or riskier than Dix or Pryor. It was all preference/style. As prospects that had pretty similar risk/reward. If anything Dix was the safest, both in a vacuum and specific to the Bears.
  12. Yea, it would work better if he gave a clip of Price.
  13. So some people hate this pick because he is too safe and will be only a consistent starter and not a star and others hate it because he's not gonna start this year (though he really might) Figures. When the haters can't agree it was probably a good pick
  14. With the number of DTs available, one of them should fall to 51. Jernigan might have a better chance than the others because of failed drug test. Not sure all will last to 51, so when two remain Emery should start casually working the phones and as soon as only one is left, look to be aggressive and jump up. That's assuming of course his boards look something like the consensus boards. For all we know he will like a LB in that range over the DL.
  15. While Fuller doesn't have any single stand out physical attributes, when taken as a whole he is a really well rounded athlete. And when you look at what Emery has always looked for in his WRs (and this is his most well established trait, that we can trace back all the way to his time in Atlanta), it makes sense he'd like similar things in the guys who have to defend those WRs. So height/size is definitely important and overall physicality, body control, and instincts are important. These are still athletic traits but much more subtle traits and probably harder to quantify (unlike a 40 time). Now granted his other two CB picks did not fit these physical traits but they were also late picks and u just won't find size like that out if day 3 CB.
  16. Eh Tillman is on a one year deal and spent most of last year injured and your 5th DB gets tons of snaps in today's NFL.
  17. Lol wut. Stop drinking and go to bed this is what was called a sarcastic response to the meathead gscool89. get a brain, moran. Oh I guess that means I need to stop drinking and go to bed
  18. Lol wut. Stop drinking and go to bed
  19. Ward and Buccannon are consensus 2nd rounders
  20. I think Tuitt, Nix, or Hageman will last to mid 40s at least, so that's trade up range. I'd be happy with any.
  21. I'd say Gilbert, Donald, and Barr. Question is did the just like Fuller the most or had no reasonable trade downs then.
  22. Manziel is worth a third, just not the first rounder too!
  23. If you told me Alshon Jeffrey had more rushes than Sproles last year I'd believe you
  24. Once Lewan was off the board early it was clear they would need to trade up to get a consensus guy so they must have felt comfortable not doing so.
