Well we're salary dumping Smith, which is a little weird since it only represents a 400k saving.

Well on the two year note, its almost assured that the cap will go up significantly in two years, but it may happen as soon as next year.

Not necessarily. If you're willing to hold off on bringing Mirotic over and do some salary dumping, MDJ, Randolph, and Snell, you could have nearly $10M. Not sure thats enough for Stephenson necessarily. Our best bet may be to hold onto what we have, bring Mirotic over for 3-4M, and still have around another 3 or so plus the RMLE at 2.7. Bring back Augustine or the best available PG. And vet mins like Hinrich Rose-Augustine-Hinrich Butler-Snell-Hinrich MDJ-McDermott Gasol-Gibson-Mirotic-Bairstow Noah-Gasol-Smith +RMLE Deep and pretty flexible cap wise going forward. May be able to take a shot at 2016 FA.

Wouldn't Wiggins have to go to get Love? Yeah, rumor is Wiggins + for Love. Also, there are rumors that LeBron has reached out to Ray Allen and Mike Miller to join him wherever he goes if he leaves Miami. Not sure how that works money wise in Cleveland though. Wouldn't both those guys likely be vet mins, so you wouldn't need additional space. Though they would have the RMLE so one could get 2.7. So on the high end, you're at 20 guys averaging 200k without any individual making more than 250k. Seems unlikely, but maybe they'll really try and exploit some package deals. They may not really know either though. I mean if Lebron and Bosh actually left they could still offer those contracts using cap space. It probably hurts the discount theory, though again, if they still get those discounts they could still have another $3M to a FA plus the RMLE at $2.7M. I do think it likely means the big three are back and not at discounts, but with no real confirmation of that it leaves the food open for speculation of flexibility on Miami's part. I have no idea what to make of the McRoberts signing other than the Big Three may just all re-up at their full max as they're not getting that 10-11M player. But a range of possibilities still exist including Bosh and/or Lebron bolting or them just splitting that 11M pool and still taking pay cuts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it's a well deserved reputation in the sense that he certainly seems to value athleticism, but not in an Al Davis "just take the best 40 time" kind of way. And it also really depends on the position. WR for instance, size and body control seem much more important than the combine type athletic traits. For edge rushers there seems to be a high importance on the combine type traits and for interior defenders it's more of a size/speed balance. There's a cap bubble that's only going to get worse when new tv revenue comes in. So it's possible these deals won't even look bad in two years. Amnesty Rose I know/think this is a joke, but isn't he not eligible as he signed his new contract after the new CBA? EDIT - yeah only Boozer and Jo are eligible on the Bulls. I'm not sure how clear cut the language is but it was an extension agreed to before the new CBA. I'm sure they could find grounds to fight it. But yes, obviously a joke. Boozer doesn't really matter since we're already assuming an amnesty (though would save JR actual cash). Dunleavy gets our offer up to around 13-14M. Following player dumps up our offer approximately: Butler +1.5 McDermott +1.3 Randolph +1.3 Snell +0.9 Smith +0.4 Bairstow +0.0 Randolph is the only guy I see us really having to add additional value to move. Apparently Taj and Noah will be present at Melo meeting so probably no Taj salary dump to get further under the cap. Assuming you can move nearly everything else (I'm gonna assume we keep Smith, Bairstow, and McDermott though) our max offer to Melo would start in the low 17 range I think.
