    alex smith Drew Brees? He didn't break out until year 4, but he only played 1 game year 1 and 11 year 3, so "game wise" he was in the 3 year window. Took until NO to really ascend and get more consistent, but he was top 3 in Passer rating that year (single, flawed stat, all that it is, but still)

    Eli was actually the one example I was able to find when I went looking for recent QBs who got significantly better after year 3 (this was right after week 1). Everyone else was basically who they were by year 3, if not year 2. alex smith Was still hoping for more, but yea, forgot about him.

    Pessimist. Almost every QB in recent memory was who they were by year 2, so Trubisky isn't improving. Optimist. By many passing metrics Mitch was basically a dead average QB in year 2 and added some additional value via his legs. This two game stretch is basically no worse than any average QB is bound to experience throughout a career. And early to say with certainty, but these were probably 2 good Ds overall. Pessimist. A average QB with Mitch's weaknesses nead some pretty specific gameplans to maximize him and Nagy has shown some really worrisome tendencies through 19 games in that regard. Optimist. They're still 13-6 in that run and it's not unrealistic to expect improvements from play callers* *source not cited.

The previous poster seemed to be referring to this past game, so I thought you were referring to just that game, also. Fwiw I was referencing game 1 as I rewatched a good chunk of that game. He was probably worse game 2 as far as accuracy, though live I thought he was a lot worse on accuracy in game 1 then when I reviewed plays.

    I don't know what this means considering how incredibly different these two QBs are, but my god it will be a miracle if Mitchell somehow gets to 24 touchdowns this year. it was meant to mean that Eli was hugely disappointing his first 3 years in the fact that he was just...mediocre. Now, Eli won a couple of Super Bowls-some would even say despite the fact his team was quarterbacked by Eli Manning. He does have that above Mitchell. But in the end, my only real point is if you think Eli is somehow an improvement over Trubisky at this stage of Mannings career, you're nuts. Or stupid. Or perhaps, full of gumbers pee balls.     This isn't a one game issue. He's missed guys badly a lot. Somebody shared a video showing how awful he is when he has time to think vs other times when he looks great. I'll never forget (nor probably forgive) him missing badly on an easy touchdown in Miami last year, since I was there and everybody in the house knew it was a touchdown until the ball sailed past. He is, way more often than is acceptable, egregiously inaccurate. He used to make 4 good throws for every one weirdly inaccurate one. Now he's making one good throw per game. That 4:1 ratio seems like a reasonable assessment of last season. The 1 good throw a game might be hyperbole. Just based on rewatching game 1, I'm not sure there were 10 good throws to even make the whole game (excluding check downs). He probably missed 3 or 4 of those completely (i.e. Didn't even see it), missed 1 or 2 with inaccuracy. Had 1 or 2 dropped, and made the rest (but only 1 or 2 were "wow" throws that could be used when someone wants to put a mixtape together showing how Mitch can "make all the throws")

    Re: Mitch's bad throws: when I rewatched game 1 tape, a lot of throws that had looked bad live were really throw aways where the coverage sucked. Now his accuracy isn't what it was supposed to be, but I'm not sure he's some egregiously inaccurate passer. The bigger issue is definitely where he's just not seeing open receivers because his reads are bad.

    i thought they cut Bray. He's on the PS. But let's be honest, Bray is not the answer. Sink or swim with Mitch thus year and bring in real competition next year.

    Two-point conversion is from the 2. PAT from like the 15 or something like that. So, when they got the offsides they decided to go for 2 from half the distance to the goalline (AKA the 1), instead of the PAT from the 10. Not that it would make a huge difference, but seems like it should be at the 2 and not the 1. 2 or 15. - 5 penalty. 7 or 20. + 5 yard penalty 2 or 15.

    Nagy is definitely broke except on the one thing that we joked broke him. That turned out great. So I wanted 15 QBs in rookie mini camp next year.
