    Meh it was a nothing contract and he has contributed more than Quinn who they gave an enormous back loaded contract to.

    Bold of you to assume we will be making that pick. We'll trade it for a 29-year-old d-lineman. Obviously this is the NFL and you can always cut guys, but this team already has $117m in cap space committed next season to defense alone. And that's with only 4 DL under contract. Yea and a lot of the cap is dead and they have a very small number under contract, so there isn't really even much to blow up. More just about letting FAs walk, maybe pick up some comp picks and try to string two strong drafts together for a quick rebuild (if you can find a QB). I'm down the rabbit hole of GM candidates now. Apparently one of the Bears own guys, Champ Kelly, is a hot target (interviewed for Jets GM job in 2019). Read a few articles and there's actually some intriguing sounding things about him. Came over to the Bears by way of recommendation of Fox. Apparently a strong mix of analytics and scouting. I just want to know if he was one of the FO guys who apparently preferred Mahomes. If he was, I say, worth a shot. Go more with the "redirection" than blowup route.

    Obviously process can be bad with good results, but wasnt it the Urlacher draft that Hatley did on the way out? Ownership is... Okay I guess. They did their best process hire with Pace, thanks to the help of Accorsi, I guess. Funny enough though I think a lot of people thought they'd go to Ballard because of familiarity and he's probably just as good as Pace, if not better. I'm wait and see right now. Toughest thing with Pace is the potential lame duck next year. Especially with a aggressive GM like Pace.. Who might be desperate to save his job... It's just not a great combo. So if they end up in that wishy washy 7 or 8 win range.. What do you do? Keep in mind most signs point to needing something of a reset or retool year too.

    This week's entry is about my opponent instead. Going into tonight's game (where he has Lamar Jackson going) , he only had 29.2 points and didn't have a single player in double digits, with a low of -3 from TEN defense. On his bench he had, Tom Brady (37.84), Nick Chubb (18.6), Ju Ju Smith-Schuster (13.7), and Boston Scott (13.4). Oof. :lol:

    If the receiver gave himself up by going to the ground it's a dead ball and they can call a TO. He caught the ball while going to the ground and the Jets touched him down before he had a chance to either get up or give himself up. It’s the Pats so decent chance the receiver would have known to give himself up. Gotcha. Yea the D should know either way, but sounds like it wasn't definite the O knew either, but it's not like the O had to get out of hounds like initially phrased either. I remember this happened last year with the Bears. Arob gave himself up at the end up the Broncos game in a similar situation, and when doing so made some incidental contact with the defender. People made a big deal like it was some genius move to dive into the defender, but really as long as he gave himself up, they could call the TO.

    I think Accorsi was helping Pace with the search for Head Coach. Once Fox became available (remember he was fired after a playoff run), there was likely a lot of pressure and "don't overthink it" from Accorsi. But that story has become very distorted over the years, IMO. At the time it was mainly speculated, but I don't think any reporter ever had an unnamed source or anything to back that up.
