  1. I don't think it's satire because of the way that he seems to be propping up Jeremy Brown's failure as his anti-Moneyball vindication. IMO, it would read a lot more like satire if not for that part.
  2. Nah, that was a sober pick, SON. haha, I wrote that and I was like, "maybe i should edit that cause it looks like i'm making fun of his pick instead of laughing at him for deleting the formatting for the small text". but then I decided I liked it the way it was. SON haha.. whoops
  3. I will never understand why some people are so hell bent against progress. It's not just baseball. You see it with a lot of things.
  4. Nah, that was a sober pick, SON.
  5. Scratch that... Soriano will be in the lineup tomorrow, according to Bruce's post in today's game thread.
  6. Soriano took BP yesterday and should be back in the lineup early next week. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080306-jason-marquis-cubs,0,7530068.story

  8. HAHA... Hilarious! Lou is going to blow a gasket over spring training games. looooooooooooooooooooooooooool
  9. Yea, 90% of the time all the ESPN Insider stuff offers is just links to the different local newspaper reports for different teams. They just put them all neat in one place for 5-10 bucks a month. Quite a racket they've got going there.
  10. This is a total tangent, because I'm obviously not talking about stereotypes, but since when does race only determine the "color of your skin?" Obviously, things like karate and crap need not apply, but there are attributes that are different among the different races beyond just skin color. Certain physical/biological attributes are simply (in some cases, much more) more common in some races than others.
  11. Lowrie's more 2B than SS. So is Theriot.
  12. Can we move this ridiculous karate chop discussion to rants or something and keep this thread on the subject of, I don't know, at least the lineup?
  13. oh the ironing
  14. seriously If I'm Roberts I'd be getting more vocal about it. Either trade me or keep me! I'm pretty sure we heard that he said that to the O's.......about 2-3 weeks ago.
  15. His person is also saying that he has received no indication that the deal is close, and bb actually went on to say that it was his opinion that Roberts wouldn't be traded. Plus, today is the Orioles longest road trip, so most of the regulars didn't make the trip. I hate when they do that. I hate when real reporters do it to. I don't care what your opinion is. Report the facts/what you heard. Don't throw in your own thoughts. Nobody cares. /rant
  16. Thanks for the update. I'm assuming all hell is breaking loose (par for the course) at OH.
  17. I wouldn't worry about it. He doesn't walk a lot of guys. Might be a result of him trying new stuff with his deliveries.
  18. This will no longer be the case this year. All road broadcasts on WGN and CSN (even WCIU, if I remember correctly) will be in HD. I'm pretty sure Bulls road games are already being broadcast in HD on CSN. At least, I watched one a few nights ago that was.
  19. I couldn't disagree more. You can't take deep routes out of the play book and turn Grossman into and dinker and dunker. Grossman's biggest strength is the 15-20 yard pass. And he needs to throw the occasional deep ball as well. What they need is to do a better job blocking. I think the problem is the Bears idea of a passing game was often either throw a bomb or dump it off. They need to work on that intermediate game, but keep the deep game as a threat as well. Yea, I was scratching my head on that one too. Take out the deep routes with Grossman in? Huh?
  20. I remember reading at some point that he was looking bad (as he usually does this time of year) and bouncing sliders or something like that. Also know that he was there for photo day when they mislabled his pics as Jason Marquis (IIRC).
  21. The Indians would be absurdly good if they did.
  22. So we're still waiting on Fuku's first line drive into the OF, huh? I'm slightly worried. Slightly.
  23. I believe this post is about right. That's about the same that I've heard. A lot of people seem to be confusing HGH with anabolic steroids.
