  1. that goofy dude politely applauding after schwarber's wild card game dong at the right of the bar crowd shot always cracks me the hell up
  2. soler didn't do that many awesome things, so i really appreciate how many of them were in or against st louis
  3. oh horsefeathers yes this was so horsefeathering awesome
  4. I saw a Tweet on this going around and I decided I'd post it here for all the old fuddy duddies who don't mess with that. Hopefully this thread can just become a dong posting party. I tried narrowing it down to one and I couldn't. These all came to mind for me... I was actually a little surprised at just how many awesome ones there have been from just this era. Hope I didn't steal all the good ones!

  6. accidental decimal on eloy
  7. lol my mind absolutely went here
  8. alou-esque (stealing the comp from Tim IIRC)
  9. Almora made some pretty big changes to his stance and apparently is hitting the ball hard and far and in the air a lot more than before. Who knows if it's anything, but his biggest problem (just ahead of his patience) has always been hitting the ball too weakly and on the ground, so who the hell knows? sharma wrote about it [tweet] [/tweet]

  11. why would you not believe that? 93.5 wins would be a very high projection. by zips it would be the highest in the NL this year. yeah i'd say the unbelievable projection for them to get right would have been 2016. yup...and 2015
  12. I'm not sure I believe their system spit out somewhere between 90.5 and 93.5 wins going into 2017 (though he did say just about every year). Even its just lip service, its nice to hear though. why would you not believe that? 93.5 wins would be a very high projection. by steamer (zips?) it would be the highest in the NL this year.
  13. and they can't even make money off that hotel I do wonder what kind of business they do in the off-season. There’s really nothing going on in Wrigleyville in February. But I’m sure they thought about all this before they built the damn thing. out of curiosity, decided to check rates for tonight... a random thursday in february. $180 on the wholesale sites. into the $200s for the weekend.
  14. It's Jesse Rogers but there are some decent quotes in here [tweet] [/tweet]

  16. [tweet]https://twitter.com/HuddleSportz/status/1097663396810375168[/tweet] this is probably a lucky guess based on the highly public rumors of them being in talks at that point, not a scoop aside from the years and dollars being wrong, based on rick hahn's own words, they were still in negotiations with the white sox at that point
  17. Find a way to get this horsefeathering done, Theo
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] i knew my moronic ass would turn as soon as i saw one video of KB swinging a bat and here we are nl central favorites baby right there with you
  19. we're going to win 100 games again [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. no, i want roast beef, you clod!
  21. i would love to know what harper is even thinking is going on at this point
  22. yeah, i was going to make fun of that... i mean, if they know how strong harper's desire to be a cub is, acting like they're suddenly poor as horsefeathers out of nowhere all offseason and letting it play out this way and then spinning it as ownership coming in to save the day or something at the last minute is probably a good way to get him as cheaply as possible (if he agrees to give you last look). it's also a shitty thing to do and it's also almost certainly not what's happening.
  23. there were people saying that type of thing about the lester deal lol
  24. people are astonishingly dumb i'm not saying it's a bad idea for the upper echelon teams to add premier free agents, but it confuses the hell out of me how the media and fan consensus seems to be that it makes more sense for those teams to add the high end guys than the teams on the fringe... like HMM who stands to benefit more from adding 4-5 wins to their projection? a couple chatty cathys on the ferry this morning were talking about it, and all I heard was "I don't get it" and "there goes the collusion idea". I had to turn up my tunes to block them out. i even heard a couple of white sox fans in my office yesterday basically saying "that's fine... $300 million for one guy? let someone else pay that"
