    Nah, but I remembered him going into that season as the designated "#4." As if all these designations didn't mean anything as it was, it turns out that Z started out that season as the 5th starter behind Estes. Gotta love Dusty.

    Seriously, I don't understand how some of you guys can enjoy a season like this with some constant irrational expectation of an imminent collapse. If you can't enjoy this season, why even bother watching baseball?

    Yeah but think of how many we would be ahead if we had only not come out cold after the AS break. or if the braves werent completely worthless right now. we better have a decent lead by mid september, cuz the last 2 weeks has collapse written all over it. ugh

    Easily. He never had me sold as a number 2 starter, but as a number 4 starter, I cant think of a better one since Steve Avery in the Braves glory days. At least I think Avery was the number 4. Maybe it was Smoltz, in which case he was a damn good #4 too. Clement/Z beg to differ...

    He'd be a great fit on this team. This is only semi-tongue-in-cheek. How long till he can ask for big money and the Buccos have to dump him off...

    I don't think it's too hard to make sense of losing 4 to the best team in the NL, then turning around and beating one of the worst teams in the NL a couple times in a row ('cuz after all the trades n' injuries, the Braves are now surely one of the NL's worst). I'm looking at the Crew's upcoming schedule. It's incredibly easy so the Brewers should be an auto-win machine all month long. I think he is trying to pretend that we aren't very good. You seem to do the same thing at times... (just busting balls)

    That point is moot, though, because anybody who actually believes that saying those things are jinxes (or that jinxes even exist) are batcrap crazy.

    Losing 2 out of 3 wouldn't have been that surprising, although unexpected, regardless of what happened in the games before. wtf is with people needing to label this as a letdown or something to justify the loss? They lost. Losses happen all the time. It makes a lot more sense to think they just lost for the same reason they lose all the other times than because they came off a big series sweep. God I need to stop taking this bait, but I can't help myself.

I love how people who are so stat driven and realists think that a fan on a computer have anything to do with an outcome of a baseball game. I do? If you don't why the hell do you care if someone says it? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. See edit

Just that it's dumb to set unrealistic expectations. They're not going to win every game against teams worse than them. If they did, they'd win every single game.

    Or not. Soto looks really bad lately. Maybe just today? Last 7 - .350/.409/.600 July overall not so good, though... I just pointed it out because I remembered him doing pretty well lately. Ballgame...
