  1. Mike Haas and Garrett Wolfe - preseason superstars
  2. lol if Hanie has a couple big plays be ready to hear all the meatballs calling for him to start...
  3. What exactly has he done that's so bad? One overthrow? He's been stuck with two 3rd and longs. Hard to really do anything there.
  4. Does Grossman see a snap in the second half?
  5. haha Mona was a slut
  6. See my previous post. Sorry walking on eggshells here trying not to offend or say to wrong thing while making my point. Kind of makes me sorry to have revealed my background in the game. What? None of this is making any sense. You said it's your opinion that you think owners view Cuban as a Loria-type. What does that have to do with anything besides your own theory? It doesn't seem based on anything. She said she's basing it on what she's heard other owners think of him. None of it makes any sense to me, particularly the comparison.
  7. Couple that with a team OBP ~.350, and you have one hell of an offense.
  8. 26-25 when Soriano doesn't start. I know that, and I'm not saying we aren't much better with him in the lineup. I'm just arguing with the idea that he needs to be hot for the lineup to produce. Plus, giving me the W/L record isn't really telling me much about how many runs their producing, although I'm sure it's less with Sori out.
  9. I don't know about the team so much scuffling with out him. They were still kicking ass when he was bad and/or hurt in April. Obviously, the longer they went without him, the more likely they were to regress because the rest of the lineup couldn't keep that up, but this lineup is so well balanced that it's hard for me to put much on any one guy's shoulders. That said, give me a hot Soriano in the playoffs, plz.
  10. I'm OK with having an overall average SP as the worst starting pitcher on this team. That said, aside from the fact that I'm pissed off about the contract we gave him to live up to such low standards, I think we have a better option on this team, and Marquis is getting the starts because of said contract.
  11. not unless we see a serious upgrade in the OF. Fukudome is certainly capable of 80 next year, but there is no obvious 80+ guy for CF Even then, Theriot isn't going to be eclipsing 80 RBI anytime soon and Soriano will be doing it out of the one spot. Seemed to me Ping was pointing to the batting order part of it too (the fact that all of 2-7 did it)... Otherwise there'd be no point to pointing that out, since what this year's team is doing is better.. *shrug*
  12. Astros radio said that Backe was still in the game because the team does not have an off day until late in the month (similar to the long span the Cubs just finished). Cooper didn't want to get into the bullpen earlier than was necessary. It looked like Backe almost had a Patrick Roy moment, complaining to the manager for keeping him in so long. For those of you, like myself, that never would've gotten that hockey reference, here's what Wikipedia has to say...
  13. He just hasn't had enough PAs against lefties this year to prove how bad he is.
  14. Cesar's line vs lefties this year: .308 .379 .375 I stand corrected. No you don't. Izturis vs LHP for his career... 902 PAs .270 .305 .344 .649 Izturis vs LHP 2005-2007... 241 PAs .245 .285 .306 .591
  15. When is the next round or whatever of bidding? Or whatever the next milestone in this process is....
  16. I should've actually read the thread and realized that point has been made 10 times already.
  17. Marshall could do the same or better for around the league minimum. I think that's where most people's problem with Jason Marquis really comes from.
  18. I'm so conflicted. I want the Cardinals to win the wild card, but I also want the Cubs lead on the Cards and Brewers to keep building. That's fine. I can keep rooting for the Cards and Brewers to both lose... Still, at some point, I have to want the Cards to win.
  19. Looks like Cuban will be at Woody's bowling event... http://www.suntimes.com/news/sneed/1093159,CST-NWS-SNEED06.article
  20. Most of the media types don't even view Soriano as a great leadoff hitter. They view him as a horribly miscast middle of the lineup hacker. I doubt the fact that he has been hitting 1st would get him any votes.
  21. Where the ushers are standing closest to the camera... those poles going across = the start of that section.
  22. j/k... umm, nobody really... Maybe Geo
  23. I remember hoping like hell for a Cubs/Cards NLCS in 2004 with our starters healthy...
  24. Brenly actually said, "This is why you don't send Soto," seconds before Soriano swung.
