It is, but at the same time, you can't let Joakim Noah be the deal breaker that keeps you from getting one of the best big men (probably the best P&R big man) in the game to pair up with your incredibly talented young PG. I'd play hardball and try and hang onto Noah because it would make the roster situation right now a lot easier, but if push came to shove, I'd toss him in and deal with the strange roster situation for as long as we had to. Elite players don't come available remotely often. What else can we do? Wait around and hope Chris Bosh (who is overrated IMO and has injury concerns of his own) comes in 2010, which he likely won't? Hope to get lucky in the draft and suck enough to get a big in a few years? What else can we do with Derrick Rose? Realistically? I'm not a big Boozer fan, but, OK, fine, that's an option. But you still have to actually get him to come here. And didn't he screw over Paxson's brother (or am I mistaken?) in Cleveland? I highly doubt Paxson wants anything to do with him if my memory is right on that.
