  1. lol another walked in run maybe? and how the hell does bradley always wind up 3-0

  3. Ben Gordon, on the other hand... (but I know what you're saying and why you're saying it) Ben Gordon in his career vs Boston is only averaging 14 pts a game, and only scored 17 on 5 of 12 shooting the last time they met with KG out. That really means basically nothing. Not saying it means tons, but to say it means nothing is wrong. Players struggle against certain teams due to matchups, defenses, etc.. and it looks to me like the Celts are a team that BG may struggle against in his career so far. Not saying he has no chance of "going off" but, to say those numbers mean nothing is kinda odd. They mean even less considering the Celtics of the past two years are nothing like the Celtic teams Gordon has faced in prior years, so even if there was anything matchup-wise about just facing the Celtics that caused him to perform poorly, it wouldn't have remained constant. So basically, you have, what, 8 games to go off with what can reasonably be considered the same team? They're an even more different team without KG, so how much can you base on 7 of those 8 games? And how much can you base on one game? I just think there's way too much noise to think that those numbers mean a whole heck of a lot.
  4. The Celts are 14-6 in their last 20 games without KG, but they are 12-2 in their last 14 games without him. They have gotten confortable without him, and are playing well lately without him. Lets also not forget that Salmons is hurt and hasnt been playing well of late. The Bulls not having a 100% healthy Salmons is huge for the Bulls. He won't be getting any better? That will be a large factor then. I dont see how hes going to get all that better between last night and Sat. Hes been dealing with it for awhile now, and playing thru it(take note Deng), but he hasnt been the same player at all. So that's why we sucked last night and got beat by a bottom feeder (I didn't see the game). That really does suck, as Salmons was a big part of our turnaround as a team. Eh... Salmons has been hurt and playing like this for a couple of weeks now.
  5. Ben Gordon is a very streaky scorer who can put up huge point totals quickly. Ray Allen is a poor defender. I'd base my thoughts on what BG could do in such a matchup in the future more on that than some head to head stats.

  8. This might've been the case with healthy Salmons, but not groiny-hurty Salmons. This Salmons is more like Noch. If we had the Salmons we had before, I'd REALLY like our chances. As it stands, I like them well enough but know that we're underdogs.
  9. I think they can get more than a couple of wins...but they're obviously more likely to lose. I could see the series going either way, though. Let's just say that it sure would be nice if this could be a national coming out party for Rose much like Wade's rookie playoff run. He'll start getting the star calls quicker that way.
  10. Either way, I'd much rather face the Celtics without KG than the Magic. This changes everything. Also, Boston's bench is not as deep as it was last year. Facing Rondo in the playoffs will be a nice test/experience for Rose, too. Should be fun to watch.
  11. If the Bulls still had Skiles, you wouldn't have seen the development from Tyrus and Noah and Derrick Rose probably wouldn't have been given nearly as much playing time, especially if a Hinrich injury wouldn't have taken the decision out of his hands. Skiles is a big part of the reason Tyrus's development was stunted in his first two years. I feel strongly about this. I liked him while he was here but he definitely has his warts. But the team would be playing defense, hence they would be a better team. Not developing Tyrus and Noah and Derrick Rose getting less playing time this year would not be good for this team, regardless of whether or not the team might be better now.
  12. I didn't know where else to put nuggets like this, but I figure we can make a thread for tidbits about Cub prospects who get some mention in BA, BP or elsewhere.
  13. It isn't solely about their records. If it were, they would just be standings, not power rankings. Those teams are not better than the Cubs. And what in the world puts Seattle ahead of the Cubs but not San Diego or Baltimore? For the record, none of those teams are teams I'd put ahead of the Cubs.

  15. The 04-05 team was the best of all of these teams up until the point Curry left the game with heart palpitations. This was during the short period where Curry was less of a worthless bum. I loved that team. After the 0-9 start, they were awesome. Going into the playoffs, obviously, the 06-07 team was the best one. But I'd put this team ahead of the others because we have at least some semblance of a superstar. The problem is the east is quite a bit stronger now and we played with our heads up our asses for too long to get ourselves a decent playoff matchup. Orlando is the best we could've hoped for at this point, but we obviously would've been in much better shape had we played better early and had the chance to play Atlanta or Miami. Either way I'm excited to see Rose turn it up a notch for the playoffs, ala the tournament last year.
  16. Why not? I'm not saying I necessarily think they should be number 1, but I certainly don't think its out of the realm of debate at all. This.
  17. Do you not see why that means they're a lot better than the Bulls?
  18. Exactly. ummm... lol... exactly
  19. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/11629690 I like Larry Dobrow.
  20. We're definitely talking about Kevin Gregg right now.
  21. He'd have to go quite a bit longer for that, no? He's just at around 280 HR right now... if he keeps hitting ~30 a year that would take him to age 39 or 40... Not unthinkable. To me it kinda is, but I guess we'll see.

  23. FYP. Agreed. There's nothing all that spectacular about his numbers.
