  1. You absolutely no clue how much Wood would have made if he accepted, do you? This.
  2. Remember when almost everyone except me thought that cutting ties with Wood and not offering him arbitration and acquiring Gregg to replace Marmol in the setup role as Marmol (inevitably) closed was a terrible idea? I do. You thought not offering arbitration to Wood was a good idea? And you are bragging about it? Considering the lack of attention he got in the market and the risk that he would accept it to stick around and get a pretty nice chunk of salary, I had no problem with it. Having Kerry Wood back at the salary he would've gotten would have been a bad thing.
  3. Why not? He's an idiot. And he does it all the time. He doesn't need a freaking LH reliever yet we all know that when he gets his mind set on something he will get it and overpay for it. How many times has he overpayed in terms of prospects in trades? 2 or 3? Gregg (Ceda has been hurt all season and Gregg has been pretty good) Wuertz (completely indefensible) Pierre (Even that got us Donaldson who was the second piece in the Harden trade, but I won't try to justify this trade) His entire MO is to overpay for everything. I will worry about him overpaying every time he talks to another team. It's what he does. He didn't overpay for Lee, Ramirez, Harden, DeRosa (in dollars), Lilly, etc. But I'm no big fan of Jim Hendry.

  5. Here. Any day of the week. Yeah. It always should be applauded when a crappy pitcher gives back 2 runs after we scored 4. What the hell is wrong with you people?? I didn't realize not freaking the hell out = applauding.
  6. I think we managed to do that a few times yesterday...
  7. ITS HERE http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2009-07/48370774.jpg http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2009-07/48369654.jpg http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2009-07/48369764.jpg http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2009-07/48369760.jpg http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2009-07/48369623.jpg Ok, so it's only kevin payne, patrick mannelly, nick roach, and fontel mines...
  8. Jeff Dickerson was just on ESPN1000 and said that he spoke to two Bears offensive players yesterday and they said that they knew of no altercation between them on the practice field. Guys that were on the field at the same time.
  9. This is a joke... this "story" is never going to go away...
  10. Hub said that he knew nothing beyond the fact that they had a verbal argument at one point or another. It was Terry who reported his source saying that they had a confrontation in which Urlacher to be physically restrained at some point.
  11. You're right....the star linebacker calling the new star quarterback names is much more likely than a talk radio personality making up a story that gets someone on a message board to say "hey, listen to the score if you want the scoop". Especially because somehow, they're the only media outlet that has this scoop... Except this story didn't originate from the Score. It originated from Bobby Wade's mouth. Sure, the Score has their own story on top of this, and to be quite honest, the idea that Cutler and Urlacher had a spat does not seem all that unlikely to me. This wouldn't be the first time (especially recently) that we've heard of players having issues with each other on this team. Urlacher has a history of being a douche and a jerk. Why this seems so unlikely to you is beyond me. *shrug*
  12. If anyone wants to recall more evidence of Urlacher's doucheyness, Google "bas rutten urlacher."
  13. It wasn't Morrissey. I know his deformed face and whiny voice. This was a younger guy, and I think it was Teddy. Then there was some old bald dude who I've only seen on that show who basically agreed with him. They were talking about high hopes for the Bears and basically kept repeating, "I don't see it. I don't see it." ah... then there's a decent chance it was Greenstein... or KC Johnson? Greenstein usually has a neater appearance than KC. Either way, they're all morons. Was the old bald dude Sam Smith? Sam Smith is the basketball guy right? It wasn't him. The guy reminds me of some has been standup comedian or something like that. I think they describe him as a radio personality. Anyway, I don't think it was KC because KC has that really awkward tall guy who hasn't quite figured out how to use his body or his voice yet. I'm pretty sure it was just offseason Teddy not shaving until he returns to the college football beat. Yea, you're probably right on that it was Teddy, then. Sam Smith is the basketball guy.... Can't really think of who else the bald guy might be, though. The second part of your description makes me want to think it's David Schuster, but he's not really bald... I guess his hair is thinning a bit. http://imgsrv.670thescore.com/image/DbLiteGraphic/200901/3546168.jpg i give up
  14. It was mostly about the fact that Duke produces a lot more douchebags than smart people. They suck in the sports I pay attention to. sometimes the two traits go hand in hand... i'd definitely consider bernstein both i love when he's douchey to meatball fans though

  16. And how is admission to and subsequently receiving a degree from Duke not considered impressive and at least an indication of some degree of intelligence? of course, this could just be some kind of jab related to college sports, which I couldn't give two expletives about.
  17. Scruffy dude against the Cutler trade is probably Morrissey.
  18. Jake Fox just said he expects to play 3B today.
  19. In the world of sports talk radio, anyone who often uses VORP in player analysis is a stathead. He's really smart and really good for the most part. I tried listening for a few months a while back, and I wouldn't say he's smart. He's a baseball idiot and a mostly rational football guy, but not smart. I'd say his eloquence/articulacy, his broad knowledge in general about just about anything, and the fact that he's a Duke graduate make it safe enough to say that he's a smart guy, especially within the realm of sports radio. I know that's not necessarily relevant to what you're talking about, but I like the fact that I'm not listening to an idiot talking when I listen to their show, which you can't say about 9/10 people in sports radio. And to say he's a baseball "idiot" is just a tad hyperbolic, IMO. I generally don't listen to the show for baseball talk, though.
  20. lol this idiot is raving about marshall as a loogy
  21. Benson wasn't a rookie, FWIW... and he was slated to be the team's #1 RB at the time (it was 2006, btw, I was wrong about 07), IIRC... the injury kept that from happening and Jones took hold of the job and held on. At least, that's how I remember it.
  22. I don't know if I'd go as far as to word it that strongly. He's well educated on them, which he makes known now and then, but he's not what you would call a big believer in all of it. He's a really smart guy, though.
