  1. I have watched this video 10 times and I have no idea why that's funny? Because the ref is laughing about something? The ref is laughing at our hilariously dumb fake punt on 4th and 11.
  2. Dislocated wrist for Urlacher? that cannot be good :x
  3. So the defense looked good and the offense can't really look any worse. And a couple of inexplicably bad mistakes were made and we at least had a late lead (granted, with the help of the refs). Any word on Urlacher or Tinoisamoa?
  4. Just to lighten what I'm sure is a crappy mood in here... http://i25.tinypic.com/2nqr7dy.gif
  5. To add to what I've said before about the defense and how the offense made it look much worse, our offense was among the best (if not the best) in average starting field position last year while our defense was among the worst, if not dead last.
  6. And just for the hell of it... BEARSSS 31 Packers 20
  7. None of my defense of the team changes the fact that I could just as easily see them finishing 3rd in the division as I could see them finishing 1st.
  8. You don't have to have the inflection of me being stupid because I don't appreciate his value or something. It's a valid concern. I'm worried by how Broncos fans view him. Obviously they're biased, but they sure as [expletive] don't look at him as a clutch performer. And like I said, even if he is a savior, man our receivers suck. I mean you can put every pass right between the numbers of say, rashied davis, and he's still dropping half of them. And on top of all this, can our defense actually get off the field? I'm not meaning to imply that you're stupid. It was more of a general comment. For some fans, it's natural to question their own teams and look at them in a more negative light. Not that I buy into clutch numbers or any of that nonsense, but Jay Cutler had a 94.2 4th quarter rating last year. Broncos fans are MORE than biased. He may have had some games at the end of the season that weren't up to his standards, but the fact is, he was much more the reason for the left half of their record and their defense had a lot more to do with the right half. Broncos fans who pretend not to like Cutler now and to be happy with the current situation are delusional homers. The vast majority of them would take the trade back in a second, if they could. And Rashied Davis is our 4th receiver, at best (not that this was a major point, but come on). Our receivers don't suck. They're unproven. Yes, we'd be a lot better with a better #1 and everyone else slotting down, but they will produce just fine with our TE corps being the go-to threat in the passing game. That 2 TE set is going to do a lot for us. I've already spoken on our defense.
  9. And this team was so horrible last year despite those weaknesses that it went 9-7 with a vastly inferior quarterback and a likely inferior offensive line and likely inferior LB corps (compared to this year), with 3-4 games that were blown at the end by a fatigued defense. Am I confident in this team? Yes. Why is it that people realize the difference a quarterback makes until we get one?
  10. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/mldavis79/JCCB.jpg Cutler as a kid
  11. Is it an advantage to win the coin toss? Sure. Is it a "major" advantage? No. 60-40 is a major advantage.... It would only be a "major advantage" if the team that losses the coin flip can't stop the team that won it. Contrary to popular belief more times then not OT games are not decided on the first drive. It's 60-40 overall... 60% of the time the team that has won the flip has won. That's a fact. There's no qualifier to it. Not on the first drive. On whatever drive. Period.
  12. Is it an advantage to win the coin toss? Sure. Is it a "major" advantage? No. 60-40 is a major advantage....
  13. I believe that since the kickoff placement rules were changed in the early 90s, the coin toss winner has won 60% of OT games. Prior to that rule change, it was close to 50/50. Why not just change that rule back?
  14. I don't have insider access, but his 06 draft article is here: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/insider/columns/story?columnist=kiper_jr_mel&id=2428772&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnfl%2fdraft06%2finsider%2fcolumns%2fstory%3fcolumnist%3dkiper_jr_mel%26id%3d2428772 http://www.broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34797 The weirder thing is he was saying those things just months ago, and now he's saying what he just said about the Bears...
  15. Funny thing is, Kiper was really down on Cutler in the 06 draft, IIRC.
  16. Odd considering he picks the Bears in the division and in a playoff matchup against them. And yea, 2TE is a great match for the 3-4... especially a 3-4 that is just learning the system.
  17. Bobby Wade released... I love it
  18. I'm obviously kidding and overlooked that very obvious possibility.
  19. or two touchdowns and 3 field goals. Nah, no chance. Their holder is hurt and the backup is terrible.
  20. So either the Packers sack Cutler in the end zone, or they get two 2pt conversions for the hell of it.
  21. DRose did a commercial with Kobe for 2K sports http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs221.snc1/6818_284131150304_221292025304_8662174_3333807_n.jpg http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs221.snc1/6818_284131155304_221292025304_8662175_7453635_n.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs221.snc1/6818_284131160304_221292025304_8662176_3186291_n.jpg http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs221.snc1/6818_284131165304_221292025304_8662177_2349444_n.jpg
  22. He actually had a piece praising Cutler's performance in Denver. I was shocked. He's hedging his bets. I've seen him a couple times basically just try and be the devil's advocate saying people are too optimistic, even though Cutler is good. Yea, I saw him do that a few times on Chicago Tribune Live and on some Tribune YouTube clip.
  23. If we manage to go 2-1 or 3-0 though, we're gonna be in a great spot.
