  1. LOVE IT..... LOVE IT.
  2. For whatever it's worth, Cutler's stats from the last time he faced the Steelers... 22/29 248 3 TD 2 INT 106.7 rating
  3. you're being really homery in your assessment, imo what about the dropped interceptions in the first half, Nelson and Driver's numerous drops, phantom illegal contact call on Harris, etc. it wasn't worst case scenario for turnovers, Cutler could have ended up with 5 or 6 INTs, for sure with the throws he made. i just hate these scenarios when twelve things break one teams way and you can still say "oh if we had just one or two things go our way we we'd have won!" I still think the Bears lose this game. I was just making the case for them and, to be honest, I just wouldn't at all be shocked if the Bears won.
  4. I have a hard time with "should have been intercepted." DBs are DBs and they're not receivers for a reason. They're not very good at catching the football. Drops by defensive players happen pretty frequently and I think it's hilarious when people say things like so and so "should've thrown x picks." I'm sure there's a % of those that should be expected to be caught and a %age that should be expected to be dropped. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm guessing the drops are nowhere near a rarity. The Bears had a dropped pick or two themselves in that game. EDIT - And I'm guessing the percentage of the time that a fat DLman makes a one handed catch while falling down is pretty damn low... Pretty nice to have one of those happen right by the goal line.
  5. Agreed and I don't see how what was seen last week really would make the Steelers look unbeatable.
  6. Because Pittsburgh didn't do a damn thing and the Bears dominated their game but lost on a few stupid plays. Heh... said the same thing I did in much fewer words... wish I had noticed this post and I could've just done a WERD
  7. The Bears outplayed GB for most of the game and just basically had a worst case scenario in terms of turnover ratio (and one of the most idiotic plays I've ever seen) and the Steelers looked unimpressive against a Titans team who I don't think is all that great.... Take away any single one of those numerous horrible plays (the interceptions while in position to score, the screwed up routes, the fake punt, etc.) and the Bears could easily have won that game despite screwing up badly. They played better football and then basically blew it multiple times. It's too early to really say but I think GB is a better team than Tennessee... I'm worried about this game, and I expect a loss, but it isn't because of how either team looked in their first games. I didn't really come away impressed with the Steelers based on their first game...
  8. Yea.
  9. I was about to ask how Jacksonville even got a team in the first place, and I was shocked to see that it's the biggest market in Florida in terms of the city's actual population... Then again, it's the largest city in the country in terms of connecting land, so that's a bit misleading.
  10. Less severe in the NFL, but I think there's some pretty solid evidence to support not punting when you get to a certain yard line....like the 45 or something like that. In high school special teams are usually poor. Punting becomes far more likely to be a messy play. Some of the high school teams in my area can't really field a solid PK either, so they wind up going for two after most TDs. Exactly. There are definitely big spots in the NFL where the quality of the kicking and punting game changes things, but there are also lots of spots where teams should go for it and don't. I've never really understood punting from the other team's 40, for instance... especially if it's 4th and short.
  11. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jon_wertheim/09/17/no.punt/index.html?eref=sihpT1 This is awesome. I've always thought about this but it's way too radical to become commonplace in the NFL... the Pats SORT OF do it in that they seem to be a little more willing than most teams to go for it on 4th down, but yea...
  12. Pretty sure those are different fans for the most part.
  13. Pisa is day to day http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2009/09/linebacker-pisa-tinaisamoa-day-to-day-with-knee-sprain.html
  14. Bears have already contacted Derrick Brooks.
  15. lol nice edit Banedon
  16. I was disappointed with the loss but this is obviously a much, much worse kick to the nuts.
  17. Urlacher is out for the season ](*,) ](*,) http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2009/09/brian-urlacher-out-for-the-season-with-wrist-injury.html
  18. Seriously? Well, I mean, you don't live in Chicago, so it's understandable. But they're worse than this.
  19. Kyle Orton doesn't lose. It's not that he wins. Big difference! Are you being serious?
  20. Let's get Kyle Orton back. He just wins. Just like today... Just win, baby.
  21. you didn't realize those were the weak spots before this game? if not for the injuries, there would be some fairly encouraging things to take from this game, unless you could see cutler playing that terribly all year.... but the injuries really, really suck. :(
  22. And Jay Cutler had never done it before. He'll be fine. I agree.
  23. And Jay Cutler had never done it before.
