  1. I didn't see anything wrong with the game plan vs. the Steelers. Sure, there were times when I wish they would've been less conservative, like the 3rd and long draw and the final FG drive, but they attacked that blitz brilliantly, IMO. 1) They got lucky against the Steelers. They lose that game if Reed doesn't miss a couple kicks. 2) Maybe I'm not giving coaching enough credit here, but it seemed less like game planning and more like Knox and Cutler making some really good plays that accounted for the offense. It just seemed like much of what worked were broken plays that were improvised. I'll give Turner credit for the play with Olsen going vertical down the middle of the field...that was well designed. I just don't have a lot of confidence in him. Really? I don't see this being even close to a guaranteed fact.
  2. Brilliantly? They gained 43 yards over 3 drives in the first 1.5 quarters and 23 yards over 3 drives in the 3rd quarter. They punted 6 times. I think that game left a lot to be desired offensively. The way they were moving the ball, I think there was a pretty good chance that they could've scored a touchdown on the final drive. You can't assume that they would have, but had they, that would've been 21 points and a good amount of yards against a great defense. For the most part, I think that type of playcalling is exactly how you should attack a defense that is that aggresssive and that good at stopping the run. But brilliantly might've been an overstatement.

  4. He was arguably not one of the top RBs before those two games. He's solid at every facet of the game. Not necessarily saying he's elite at running the ball. 3.9 y/carry isn't good, but you have to consider the context and the crap offense he was in and the 8 man fronts he was facing. When he's as good as he is catching the football and in pass protection, I don't see how you wouldn't put him there.
  5. Man, if that line stays close to that I'm going to have to put a sizeable bet on the Bears when I get to Vegas Friday. Olsen has been targeted 12 times in the first two games. For comparison sake, Bennett has 15 targets, Knox has 13 and Hester has 11. For all the talk about Olsen being Cutler's favorite target in the preseason, it hasn't panned out that way so far. He's being game-planned for by defenses... As is Hester... If that continues to leave other guys open, I have no problem with it.
  6. Is Matt Forte not one of the top RBs in the NFC and NFL now after two games?
  7. Bears top 3 WR Johnny Knox: 8 REC 152 YDS 1 TD Devin Hester: 8 REC 111 YDS 1 TD Earl Bennett: 9 REC 88 YDS 0 TD Broncos top 3 WR Eddie Royal: 5 REC 38 YDS 0 TDs Brandon Marshall: 7 REC 61 YDS 0 TDs Brandon Stokely: 6 REC 157 YDS 1 TD Saw this posted somewhere. Thought it was mildly interesting, given the defenses Denver has faced and the defenses we have faced... doesn't mean a whole lot after two games, but it'll be interesting to see how it goes as the season goes on and how the whole QB vs. WR's thing plays out. Some tried to argue that Orton would get plugged right into that offense and make use of all those weapons and the Broncos wouldn't miss that much of a beat. I always have and still feel that outside of with the really great WRs, it's mostly about the QB. Granted, I know Orton's numbers look better than Cutler's at the moment. Also.. take out that like 80 yard TD "pass" to Stokes and what do you really have?
  8. But yes, we do need to do better than 2.2 y/carry as the season goes on. vs. the Steelers, however, as adept as they are at stopping the run, I think it was a great game plan to throw the ball as much as we did. The short passing game worked beautifully.
  9. We're transitioning to becoming a passing team now. You don't get Jay Cutler and actually truly attempt to continue to be a run the ball and grind it out offense. You could tell that Turner was dying to do this with Rex... with Cutler there's no question.
  10. Per Adam Schefter's twitter Hasselbeck has a fractured rib. Unsure about next week against Chicago. EDIT - I really need to refresh before I post things.
  11. We were throwing a lot and scoring points early in 06 and people were worried about the run game then, too. The run game will open up eventually.
  12. Their run D is pathetic. So is the Bears run O. Why am I not surprised that you responded with that. 16 run attempts today, thats it. Our running game being non existent has been as much Turners fault as Fortes/Oline. Forte has 2 carries in the 1st half today. Pitt defends the rush well so it makes sense putting the ball in Cutlers hands, but against Seattle it should be all Forte. The short pass was the run game yesterday. Great gameplan to attack that defense.
  13. How does a quarterback, of all people, walk into that? You'd think pocket presence would translate better He was lost in his own sulking. sure if he was sulking after calling the time out for the game winning fg *shrug*
  14. and i didn't even know about soul.
  15. lol imb at his best and if he isn't trolling, he probably should pretend he is so he doesn't look ridiculous :-))
  16. The last thing I'd point to is the receivers after this game. I understand what you are talking about, but yea.
  17. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS http://www.aww-kittah-aww.com/up/public/96711/Cutler.gif haha
  18. Do we know if something is wrong with Forte?
  19. lol and just like that almost
  20. He wasn't bad in 06 In 07 our line was terrible so who knows
  21. I LOVE YOU CEDRIC!!!
