  1. The main reason I'm coming off is that he appears to be playing through injury and I'm not sure it's going to get better. He has both bitched before about reduced playing time and has shown a willingness/desire to rush back from injuries last year, and I'm thinking that's what's going on. Doesn't want to lose his job...can't blame him. But if that's the case and he's going to play like this, might as well start getting Willson in the mix.
  2. pat had me convinced that was easily a hit, maybe a double
  3. see the danny espinosa/javy baez comps are spot on
  4. Miggy tried to tag from first on a long flyout to center by Almora. The results were predictable You forgot that he also didn't do his one job, which is catch the pitch from Hammel, and allowed the game to be tied up. uhhh because that was neither his fault nor part of that play
  5. It's pretty frustrating. and the pitchers know this and exploit it every time it seems like something got lost in translation when they were teaching him to get into favorable counts and look for his pitch to hit lol
  6. It's pretty frustrating. It's like he thinks once he's in a favorable count it's time to swing at anything.
  7. or maybe we can since it's 1-1 and the 2nd inning
  8. It's definitely not a retrospect thing OK maybe not, but its one of those things where I could see people saying 'way to be aggressive to try and get to Strasburg before he settles in' if it works. it'd be more like that was a really dumb decision that worked out well
  9. well this is good for a laugh http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/carpenter-entrenched-at-leadoff-for-cardinals/article_fd6056b4-f052-51aa-8b87-672ca70e05ce.html
  10. without looking too hard i think we've been a good amount better at baserunning this year than last year per fangraphs
  11. It's definitely not a retrospect thing
  12. [tweet] [/tweet]
  13. Are you thinking of another Albert Almora? But yeah, assuming Fowler walks, that'd be the scenario barring a trade.
  14. Yeah he is. He's just not great at deciding when to.
  15. guys ben revere had been hitting lately
  16. More for those of us unable to watch? bunt single for first hit
