  1. seems fine to me. not sure what people were expecting to get for tepera that would be much better than a mid 90s sitting lefty with a good breaking ball. i could see the sweetener argument but that's about it.
  2. derrick rose is a weirdo and i do not want him back
  3. That font sure is...something Can't wait to see the mixed upside down font caps!
  4. People keep saying this, but the Indians were never the Spiders. The Spiders were a short-lived 19th century team look who you're replying to do you think he doesn't know this? edit - lol he actually said the same thing on the first page
  5. yep, guy still sucks

  7. this is a very good strategy for maintaining and aiding SF for sure, but the Bears still dont have ownership in the stadium, and that could be their larger sticking point. I'd love to see this work out for the Bears and SF, coupled by better revenue for the Bears and more seating capacity in SF, probably a major modernization/remodel to SF. And field turf, no more Chicago Parks death grip. the decision to have grass is the bears' choice, not the city's. the city would've gladly installed field turf years ago if the bears wanted it.
  8. This prompted me to see what Jason Dubois has been up to and it yielded this... https://www.linkedin.com/in/jason-dubois-04a2a863/ and this https://www.pinalcentral.com/casa_grande_dispatch/local_sports/cg-tractor-supply-employee-dubois-recalls-pro-career-with-cubs/article_3788d183-f82c-56d9-b089-09300c78a0a6.html
  9. Vogelbach for Mike Montgomery. wtf
  10. yeah, but only one guy really did that. and i almost spat out my drink when i saw the idea. it seems especially silly given that they didn't even play there until the 70s.
  11. Wrigley Field, in its current form, looks great from the outside. What?
  12. i don't recall hearing that at all
  13. I don't care if they are good. They aren't winning the World Series good and if you aren't going to sign Baez or Bryant or Rizzo, trade them all with Kimbrel before July 1. There is good regular season baseball and there is good playoff baseball. Just like when the Cubs beat up on the Mets in 2015 and got hammered in the playoffs because the Mets have better starting pitching. this is certainly a take.
  14. i've heard him on his score hits also hint at being pro beaning bat flippers and not liking the tim anderson stuff etc. it's not hard to read between the lines. I’m not defending Coomer, I’m saying Machado had heard that criticism long before last weekwnd didn't say you were. just expounding a little bit.
  15. coomer is a goober just like these other guys (brenley, kaplan, etc.) and i will never stop saying it i'm also so sick of him saying the ball was "crunched" who the hell says that? it's crushed. CRUSHED. you damn oaf. I did t know if Machado had a similar injury situation as Ramirez, or if it’s just Machado being Machado. He certainly has a “no hustle” reputation (fair or not) i've heard him on his score hits also hint at being pro beaning bat flippers and not liking the tim anderson stuff etc. it's not hard to read between the lines.

  17. Agreed. I think it was one of the Hawks Cup rallies that I'm still scarred over. I lived in walking difference to Soldier Field so wasn't using public transit or car, and getting out of the stadium vicinity was the worst stadium experience I've ever had. But all the other times I've been, including for Soccer games which aren't as packed as a Bears game and it just always seems to suck. Edit- and as much as getting on the redline after a Cubs game can also be soul-crushingly miserable, there's at least alternatives because you're in the middle of a neighborhood with Bars and restaurants. SF doesn't offer any alternative like that. Yeah, Soldier Field and the Museum Campus are a pain in the ass to get to even when there's not a Bears game. Driving sucks because it's downtown. But then it's like the one place downtown that's a public transit desert. Mile for mile it might be the worst place in the city to try and get to, even on non game days. 100% spot on and dealing with all that after drinking all day/night (instead of just having places to go hang out a block away like at wrigley) is the definition of not fun.
  18. soldier field isn't just regular bad to get to. it's extra bad as compared to how bad it already is to get into stadiums. i've been to plenty of events at plenty of venues and soldier field is the only one i bitch about this with.
  19. we also mustn't let barry rozner off the hook on the aramis dog whistling.
  20. It’s picturesque but yeah not exactly a ideal location for a 60,000 seat football stadium. I’d prefer the Bears find something in the city and I could live with Soldier Fields location as my concern is more the stadium than the location. I want a stadium that can host Super Bowls, Final Fours, Big Ten Championship games, etc. if that has to be built in Arlington heights or something so be it. Cowboys Stadium is not in Dallas, whatever they call the Cardinals stadium is far away from central Phoenix, MetLife field is not centrally located, nor is the new LA stadium. Yea, Soldier Field is mostly good for being picturesque. It's kind of miserable to get in and out of. For 8 times a year, the boonies is okay. For baseball and even hockey/basketball, it's a bigger factor. And Arlington Heights is still not even that "Boonies". There's a Metra stop there at least. We're not talking Dekalb or something. more than kind of. it's a horsefeathering nightmare. i'd be good never going there again.
