    I would assume the expectation is for relatively few guests to arrive via their own car that needs to be parked, like a lot of city-based hotels. this too. whatever parking there is will be insanely pricey, i'm sure.

    originally, i believe the plan was to have underground parking in the hotel. not sure if that has changed, but there's also a bunch of parking spots that are part of the (unrelated to the Cubs) addison park on clark project

    going to be at this game tonight. i set my DVR to go 3 hours after the scheduled end (on CSN) to capture whatever coverage there may be afterwards. you guys think any other channel will have major coverage? maybe mlbn? local news probably...

    I was gonna offer this. That season BABIP of .251 is so ludicrously out of step with decades of history... are we *that* good on defense and *that* good at getting weak contact? (Perhaps pitchers who induce weak contact synergize exceptionally well with great defenders, both improving each other?) If it was just luck though, and we were that much of an outlier, you would have expected the half season BABIP to start regressing, and it really hasn't, over thousands of batted balls. I dunno. Being so ludicrously out of step with decades of history would be easier to assign to being so ludicrously talented and well run than to ludicrous luck. Obviously, there's probably some positive variance involved in there, but with that much talent, we are likely to be doing this for a while.

    oh right. coghlan has been bad so .210 would be good. he's actually hitting .214 with the cubs tho. also, the cardinals suck. they don't have pixie dust. *beep boop beep* (extremely robot voice) actually pixie dust is from the 1953 walt disney film 'peter pan.' there is no evidence that it exists in real life. i will never know a woman's touch. The point is the pixie dust is ours, you silly bastard

    I think Jason Hammel does a tremendous job with what the Cubs need him to be, which is a 5th starter who pitches like a well above average starter. He gives you quality innings and most of the time a great chance to win the game. No need to start him in the playoffs and no need to get rid of him before next year, when rotation depth will remain an issue. viewtopic.php?p=1953#p1953 :-k :-k :-k :-" :-" :-"

    I'm sure they've fixed guys and we just didn't make a big deal out of it but it seems like the Cubs have 2 players who they tried to refine into better overall hitters with disasterous results. you mean like bryant, rizzo, russell, and fowler? all of them have made significant adjustments under the tutelage of our big league coaching that really made them take steps forward. hell, even javy is a very different hitter, even though he still has a ways to go.
