as we've talked about (and made fun of me) ad nauseam for, i will be at a concert for most of tomorrow night's game. i still haven't decided if, after I watch the first couple innings at the bar, i will continue to follow the game on my phone at the concert or try to avoid finding anything out and watching on DVR when I get home. It's got to be damn near impossible to avoid hearing an update at a big concert in Chicago with today's technology. you're probably right. i was just hoping that with the concert going on, there's not much for me to overhear, and then I'd just try making a bee line for my car going LALALA with my ears covered.

The understanding of how the playoffs work is keeping me in check...somewhat. Obviously I want them to win really bad and I don't want to listen to stupid Cardinal or Sox fans if we don't. FWIW, I don't mean my expectations, but the general public's. Mine going into the playoffs are always more or less the same, even though obviously, having witnessed such an awesome regular season, you don't want it tainted by a crappy playoff run.

yeah i don't think the expecations last year vs this year are even remotely comparable. i don't think it matters much, either, but yeah.

You wouldn't be surprised if a starting pitcher started three games in six days? Math really is hard. Started yesterday (day 1), maybe start Saturday on 2 days rest (days 2-4), then start on regular rest in game 5 (days 5-9). Then Cueto starts games 1, 3, and 4? -
What are you referring to when you say you don't understand? If it's the moneyline format, that is not exclusive to baseball. That then If it's a + number, then it's how much you win if you bet $100. If it's a - number, then it's how much you have to bet to win $100. So a $100 bet at +150 wins you $150. A $120 bet wins you $100 at -120. It's a straight bet on whether the team wins or loses. No spread involved.

Basically, the gist is that right now they have the Dodgers, as presently constructed for the postseason, PROJECTING as a 105 win talent team. In other words, their system is disastrously broken.

And they all (well, Green not so much in the upper body, but I think 210 might be generous there) have pretty muscular and lean builds. Muscle weighing more than fat, I can't see how someone with less muscle at that same weight would be considered "ridiculously" skinny Kind of a pointless argument but w/e My first reaction is that the weights and definitely the heights are probably not very accurate. This is also true.

i can't wrap my head around how insanely hard it feels to get through the MLB playoffs and come out the champion, and then how the hell the yankees pulled off the late 90's.

I wasn't posting it because I thought it reflected our actual chances. I posted it because of how insanely +EV it seems to be.
