  1. this is from al yellon so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently wade davis is related to jody davis. had no idea.
  2. remember when me and a few others had to go on a crusade to convince you guys javy was still cool as horsefeathers even if he did strike out 8 gajillion times in 10 at bats in 2014
  3. I was a bit of a late bloomer with my sports interest, but 12 was definitely when it really took hold, like he said. I was just bored by them before that. 8 year old me had no interest, even when my dad and my brothers all watched sports. It all just clicked at once for me when Jordan came back and I became an obsessed freak about the Bulls, then the Cubs, then the Bears.
  4. he's prob bitter about what happened with mexico but still a crybaby
  5. I really hope they do this at Wrigley
  6. i so badly want him to figure out what he has left to figure out for his talent to fully bear out at the plate because a player like that with that much swag would be absurdly fun to root for
  7. It's weird... two years ago that was easily my favorite cubs team ever and I couldn't imagine it being surpassed. Even when the 2015 team started out well (and I didn't really doubt it would) I had this doubt, partly because I'm older I think, that it wouldn't be the same... like maybe the 08 playoffs after such a great season ruined me or something. Now I don't really care at all about that team.
  8. i had essentially the exact same experience at cortland's garage
  9. To be honest it's probably more of a 'I'm going to buy this the first day I can' v. 'I'll buy it when I'm low on books to read'. Going to the top of the list for sure. i successfully waited for "the only rule is it has to work" to go on sale on kindle for like $2 or something after i saw that happen with passan's book last year (which i didn't get)...it took months tho. i might not be willing to do that with this one.
  10. i'm not gonna lie, i might even buy the kap man's book just because i will never stoop so low as to get yellon's however.
  11. I thought we might be running thin a while ago. Even right now when I'm trying to come up with pre-World Series possible candidates for being ahead of Miggy's slam, I'm realizing they were already listed.
  12. [tweet] [/tweet] hahaha this is great
  13. goony
  14. I think you're thinking of another system http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/katohs-top-100-prospect-list-for-2016/ http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/katohs-top-100-list-now-incorporating-multiple-years/
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] lol miggy responding to internet trolls translation - first guy says "you batted 216 last season, friend, consider yourself lucky you're in the show this year" miggy replies - "but i hit the most important HR in chicago history and oh yeah, almost forgot, i drove in the run that won us the world series"
  16. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/69972428/v1237351883/chcoak-schwarber-plates-two-runs-with-a-triple/?team_id=112 schwarber's triple was basically a dong to dead center
  17. just like he's been working on http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v1237211983/chcoak-bryant-opens-the-scoring-with-tworun-blast
  18. was one of those games in texas at least when sammy hit a dong off us
  19. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. you understand why jokes are funny right? yeah you're right. he's a shitty teammate and jerk and nobody likes him.
  21. uhhhh what are jokes
  22. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet] get a load of this idiot. the actual embodiment of a (probably racist) wet blanket. probably one of those angry hockey fans that calls/texts into the score
  23. Yep. We are now just looking for the Jason Heyward that hit .275 or so with 15-18 homers and made everybody say, "Wow, this guy could be a monster, hitting 30-some homers, if his swing wasn't so ugly." I suppose we can give up on the hope of him ever figuring it all out and being an absolute monster. But, maybe, just maybe he doesn't have to be completely horrendous. Pretty please. i mean if by absolute monster you mean mike trout, yeah...because he's pretty horsefeathering good as it is being the guy he was before last year (especially - and obviously - if he can channel 2012 like they're trying).
  24. wtf?
