  1. i remember this game http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/COL/COL199508180.shtml i have no idea if it's happened in a spring game since then or not
  2. and there's 20! lmao
  3. i'm so intrigued by eddie butler that i wish we had a rotation opening for him but he prob could use the time at iowa to keep working on whatever he's workign on
  4. apparently completely [expletive] on the reds isn't just limited to the regular season this is way beyond even the 08 team making the pirates it's personal whipping boy
  5. There was never any question he'd be on the opening day roster. He's been expected to have a share of everyday duties (presumably how much of it depending on how well he's doing) along with Jay all along. He was an MLB average hitter in his 120ish PA last year, so there's at least a pretty OK chance he can do that, if not better.
  6. saw this in the GRB thread about Wong would the cubs even roster him?
  7. where's my fellow kolton wong hating friend bob sanders [tweet] [/tweet]
  8. Maybe .700 haha i was just coming in to reply to this...damn you
  9. Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a gold Bryant shirsey
  10. This is probably the best post you've ever made
  11. Pretty sure they make a new one and then it pretty much goes with them saying they are fine because Wheeler can just take the injured pitchers spot (even tho he hasn't pitched in god knows how long) and then saying Syndergaard, Harvey and DeGrom are all good for 30+ ace like starts so who cares. Also Cespedes is the greatest offensive player ever so if he's healthy he will hit 100 HRs to make up for losing pitchers. i basically go over there to laugh every time this thread is bumped. their denial is so strong...it reminds me of us in 04-06. "when are we finally going to see the big 5 in a row?!" they still haven't realized the answer is never and if they even do, they're probably not gonna be good anyway.
  12. in the time it took me to figure out what channel it was on (i keep forgetting wgn still exists) i turned it on and it was 6-0 in teh first lmao
  13. OK, this is pretty great. Indians broadcast invited on GM Mike Chernoff's young son - maybe like 6 years old? - to call the 9th inning. Tom Hamilton was asking the kid questions like "whose idea was it to sign Encarnacion?" etc - they go back and forth a bit. Lindor comes up and they talk about how good he is and the kid says "dad is trying to get Lindor to play here for 7 more years" Here's the audio https://m.soundcloud.com/user-891882863/brody-chernoff-with-hammy
  14. haha taillon just said on mlb network that his coolest big league experience so far was at wrigley even though he got shelled http://m.mlb.com/video/v836205983/pitchc-bryant-pads-lead-with-solo-home-run-to-left/?query=taillon+cubs http://m.mlb.com/video/v836138183/pitchc-baez-goes-yard-with-solo-homer-in-the-2nd/?query=taillon+cubs http://m.mlb.com/video/v836237383/pitchc-rizzo-goes-backtoback-with-bryant-in-3rd/?game_pk=447906 http://drdawgsblawg.ca/likeit.jpg
  15. trying hard not to be convinced that happ is going to have a massive breakout year as a prospect after seeing him make all this hard contact in spring training games
  16. Yeah, that's kind of my point. Pace tried to field an 8 or 9 win team while building for more and failed miserably. And remember, his resume is built on pro scouting (free agency), not college scouting and drafts. horsefeathers, you're talking me into wanting him gone now. I mean, drafting hasn't exactly been a weak point so far. One very good draft and one ehh one before he got his own guys on staff.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet] yessssssssss
  18. New seats are in in the new area behind home...trying to figure out if they put a new "fancier" seat design in those premium areas or not
  19. Arrieta flashing his dong [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. replace the whole horsefeathering thing
  21. that's pretty much what i assumed this was https://www.instagram.com/p/BRHDhpJgTfQN0uqXrM6yNh28mc4Rl0kGdR2Fho0/
  22. incidentally, had no idea adam jones was so bad last year.
  23. the last time i remember you this appalled at prospect love it was lindor and polanco JUST SAYING (i didn't love them either tho) To be fair somehow Lindor learned to hit. this is an example of why scouting matters beyond stat lines
  24. depends on your definition of special. we've suddenly been spoiled with prospect success, but as a prospect I think you have to consider him a hit. took a step forward last year too.
