  1. honestly i wish KB were as good as he is while being like javy or bautista or some horsefeathers
  2. another way of saying he's terrible offensively and provides literally negative value despite his defense unless he exclusively faces lefties and the very best of rhp matchups (in which case, yes, he can be quite valuable) Or maybe give the guy more than 3 weeks to adjust to regular playing time, since he's shown to be productive offensively at every level, instead of demanding instant gratification for every player. you really don't think we have enough of a sample size to have a verdict on how javy baez hits major league righties? and it's not like the contact rates in the minors didn't show this coming even when he was succeeding down there. EDIT: since i was curious as to just how bad it was, i looked it up 590 PA 3.2% BB% 31.2 K% .230/.267/.370 .276 wOBA 70wRC+ If he's ever going to become competent, I don't think it's any time soon and I'm not sure letting him continuously flail away and struggle badly for the sake of getting his glove in the lineup is the way to get there (devil's advocate: maybe he needs to be humbled that much to be convinced to make the adjustments he needs to make, but you'd think 2014 and the subsequent demotion to start 2015 would've been enough to achieve that).

  4. I think you're thinking of Cowherd or Skip Bayless with that with their new shows when they left ESPN. But yeah they are all garbage and any network that pays them millions for their nonsense TV deserves to fail. Nope. It was Stephen A's Quite Frankly in like 2004 or 05. Poker boom was happening then and destroyed it in the ratings too.
  5. Amazing...remember when they gave him his own show and it didn't even get better ratings than the AND1 basketball and bowling it was up against on their other networks?
  6. I don't even watch ESPN unless I'm watching a game...are they still employing Stephen A. Smith?
  7. Rightly so
  8. i've used it once at work a few weeks back with no problems...as a directv subscriber. haven't tried again since so i can't say whether i would've had any issues.
  9. here's what he was doing right before he did that https://www.instagram.com/p/BTPRONpF4PK/?taken-by=imthechupacabra https://www.instagram.com/p/BTPRHxjlWpm/?taken-by=imthechupacabra

  11. schwarbs plz dong here preferably into the river
  12. I don't agree with the implication that every strike is worthy of being swung at
  13. what are you doing? (also tonight's game is not on CSN so it wouldn't be available)
  14. never expected that ball to get htat deep
  15. tv gun seems to have him 87-88 :dontknow:
  16. For more recent reference, the 2008 team scored 855 runs.
  17. these are based on like, one, positive event; those mean next to nothing yeah i hem-hawed for like 5 seconds before even bothering posting it
  18. hahahahaha! That wasn't the full mic drop moment it sounds like...the host was the one who asked him why he won't flip a bat, and he said he is scared to look stupid doing it on a fly out, then Goff or Bernstein (can't remember for sure) was like "what about when you hit it halfway up the video board?" and that was his reply. so it was basically his attempt to still be vanilla goody goody KB.
  19. Eh, I love Willson but if we have him through his age 30 season I'd be fine riding it out year by year. Knowing there's a 0 chance on Bryant to extend the only guy I'd really like to see an extension for is Russell. Everyone else I'm fine with letting it ride for various reasons. Addy is gonna be just as difficult to extend as KB for the same reason I don't disagree, but devil's advocate - KB has had much more success and has much better traditional stats (this is what matters when it comes to getting raises in arb) and has also already banked $9M from baseball alone, while Russell is "only" at $4.3M in career earnings.
