i haven't watched the entire game, but what i've seen has been mighty mighty annoying and of course it was that deadbeat scumbag braun who did the scoring for them

i can't even remember the last time i looked at the rbi column, but since you guys are bringing it up (and i too was surprised his total was that low), while bryant's high leverage and RISP numbers are lower than his others, his BABIP in both scenarios is insanely low. (.156 in high leverage, and .211 w/RISP). i don't know how much of that comes down to quality of contact, and i have neither the motivation or the energy to look, but either way those are crazy low.

Trevathan ready to go full speed for Week 1. Pretty amazing. We'll see how he plays, though. -
it's been kind of an afterthought but the cubs have never been to the playoffs 3 straight seasons (unless you count when it was just the world series to be "playoffs," in which case, i think you go back to those mid aughts teams)

Stanton's birthday is in November, and Rizzo has never homered on his birthday. The one streak in that vein that jumps to mind is Harper homering on Opening Day 3 straight years. sorry, it was trout, not stanton...d'oh. i could've sworn rizzo had some sort of bday thing going on.
