  1. I believe his exact position is that “bunts lick butts.”
  2. I’m stunned that they would give Ross the Rick Renteria treatment. I also can’t recall a piece of sports news that’s ever blindsided me so much. but mostly I’m extremely happy. I liked Ross just fine, but Counsell rules.
  3. Lol this is such performative sanctimonious horsefeathers.
  4. https://x.com/ProFootballTalk/status/1718431890531619310?s=20
  5. I don’t think Arizona is committed to Murray as the starter next year, let alone the next 5.
  6. Benetti is so bad regardless of what sport he’s calling. I really don’t get how he wound up with such a strong reputation.
  7. Bagent v. Hoyer should be thrilling.
  8. I don’t think there is a Juan Soto thread yet but I figured he deserves one. Cerami definitely has some connections within the Cubs organization as he’s had the scoop on moves a few times over recent years. Nothing too earth shattering here, but this is the first report I’ve seen of Cubs interest in Soto. https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2023/10/10/juan-soto-and-the-cubs/
  9. KC game, but yeah. Even including a 99 yard game he’s on pace for almost 3,900 yards, which would be a bears record. (Obviously the 17th game helps his cause compared to past bears QBs.)
  10. Last night in the score, Mark Grote said he would be surprised if Jenkins isn’t playing based on what he’s heard.
  11. Why would he do that? And how?
  12. Makes sense. Didn’t know any of that.
  13. I liked Montgomery, but I think they’ll get similar production out of Johnson.
  14. Yeah but if fields turns the opposite direction from where his momentum is taking him and Mooney does the same and then runs 40 yards closer to where fields is, it’s a pretty easy 8 yard pass. You gotta admit that, at least.
  15. What are you basing this on? He was an all star last year and is owed $70 million+ over the next two years. He hasn’t seen a meaningful reduction in minutes played or games played over the past few years. Has he made mention of retiring (very possible that he has and I missed it)? Otherwise this post doesn’t make much sense to me.
  16. They have their 2024 pick. All the picks they dealt were ‘22 and ‘23.
  17. Right. That’s what the Packers receive from the Jets. They would’ve gotten a first, now they get a 2nd due to the injury. The Packers’ own 2024 first was never part of the deal.
  18. The Packers were never giving up their 2024 first round pick in the Rodgers trade. ETA: the impact of the Rodgers industry was that instead of getting the Jets’ 2024 1st, they get a 2024 2nd.
  19. It’s not impossible, but they play some other really bad teams this year. Carolina, Denver, Atlanta, Arizona, Las Vegas. Not a given, but there’s probably a win or two in there somewhere
  20. I didn’t know much about Maye so I did a quick search earlier this week and this was the first scouting report I read:
  21. It really doesn’t matter. The 49ers had the benefit of a great roster and great coaching. Fields appears to be a pretty bad QB, but even if Bagent is somehow an improvement, you still have the issue of most of the rest of the roster being total dogshit and the coaching staff being a laughingstock.
