Yeah. Poor guy. How can one reasonably expect to live any sort of comfortably on a lousy $10 million a year? I wonder if he can qualify for welfare on that sort of pay. Juan Pierre is making like 10 million a year, isn't he? I can understand him not wanting to play for that annual salary. I'm not saying that it isn't a lot of money, just that it makes a lot more sense for him to turn it down knowing that info.

I read on Dodgerblues that some of the money was deferred, and he'd only be making 10 mil the next two seasons in the deal he rejected yesterday, and that's why he rejected it. Not sure how true that is, seems kind of unlikely. But, if it is true, it would be more understandable why he declined it.

Man, it take some serious Miles hate to say that he's "half the player" Grudzielanek is. Miles is half the player A-Rod is, not half the player Grudz is. Holy crap. -
And who's gonna take Fukudome off our hands if he sucks this year? He'll be in our outfield at least this and next year.

I don't think Dusty ever managed Ward, so I don't see how he played him as if he were a 21st man. And Jacque was a whole lot better than a 25th man for the Cubs.

That was my first reaction, but it was obviously baseless speculation, otherwise Uribe would have signed here and not a minor league deal with San Fran. This is what I was wanting to say, but I couldn't find the words, so instead I just loled.

This is an incredibly naive rudimentary sabermetric belief. Attempting to steal a base is a good idea in tons of situations - and with the notable exception of the first six weeks last season, Theriot's been incredibly efficient at stealing bases. Didn't you once say that steals are only good in the 9th inning or extra innings? Maybe that was your quote about bunts, but I'm certain you said that steals are pretty much worthless.
