  1. I was at this game! The Trop is surprisingly OK. Davis looked nasty today. Ive had a good season. Ive seen games in Miami, Tampa, Atlanta and Chicago this season and the only loss was game 3 of that miserable sweep from the Brewers last Sunday.
  2. Didn't you see how hard that home run was hit? They cut him instantly to teach the rest of the pitchers how much that horsefeathers will be tolerated. It just took a few batters for him to get the message.
  3. Id say maybe cutting him mid game would send a message to the rest of the team. Should we wait and do it in a playoff game for extra zing?
  4. Uhhhh theres close to a 0% chance he isnt the opening day left fielder next year and thats been pretty steady throughout his struggles.
  5. Hm, so this guy throws 101 with great movement. That might be annoying in the future.
  6. So the Nats are 4.5 back of LA and have a 3 game set coming up. Is our path through the playoffs easier facing LA in the 5 game series and WAS in the NLCS or the other way around? I think its best for us to face LA in the 5 game series. That gives us 7 games to exploit the Disty factor and gives us a game or two of no Strasburg/Scherzer. Go Nats i guess?
  7. Why is Lugo pitching with a partially torn UCL? Is that what Len said? How is that even a thing? I mean i know, Mets, but seriously?
  8. Why would you have a slugger bat 9th? That doesn't make much sense. Yep. Flop 6 and 9 and give Almora 75% of the starts andI like it a lot.
  9. Oh sweet, i get to see an opening day in person. :D
  10. 2004 is a much better comparison.
  11. We were a baseball team in need of a left handed reliever and a backup catcher and we got both for Candelario who may or may not be an ok backup or below average starter and parades who is an odds on favorite to never make the major leagues. Sucks that Wilson has sucked but its a good bet that will turn around before the contract expires. Avila became our starter, filled in admirably, and had several big or game winning hits for us. It was a good trade and we got the exact return that we needed.
  12. Meh, I'd like our chances of winning the division even if I knew with absolute certainty that the Brewers would sweep the remaining games between us. Things would certainly be easier if we could find a way to look like a professional baseball team tomorrow but this is Milwaukee's world series and they can have it for all I care.
  13. Now theyre gonna think they lost the division by 8 games because Nelson missed a month. That sucks but oh well.
  14. Cool story, but.... are you unfamiliar with sheetz or just doubtful of gas station food? i could get the mentality of the latter, but it's basically just like any fast food place on the inside except you order your food through a touch screen monitor. i mean the food is kinda "meh" but it's comparable to any other FF joint. lately i've really liked their flatbread turkey sausage sandwich (turkey sausage/grilled oninons/eggs/cheese) which i'm sure is probably frozen for the most part. but it's quick and cheap and efficient and they serve it all day. i also hold very low standards for food so take this take with a grain of salt. for reference, i have a 12 pack of busch light in my fridge. i've found if you lower your expectations (or are too broke to do anything else) then you're slightly happier. basically, it's all the same horsefeathers if you squint hard enough. Their breakfast sandwiches are really good. Better than youll find at any fast food place. That pretzel roll sandwich bun is great.
  15. Javy with more DRS at short than Lindor this year. Javy with a better batting average. Lindor with more homers. http://68.media.tumblr.com/db649f4441940d7fcbbc2bd5d6646bc1/tumblr_mlj0syTLbP1rf1e3ro1_250.gif That doesnt even seem possible to me. Wow.
  16. So much for my 6 back on September 3rd prediction. I wonder if the Dodgers and Nats decided that they'd rather face the Brewers in the playoffs. Actually I dont, but that feels better than giving them credit for surviving a really tough 2 week+ of schedule while we were cake walking. Whatever, we'll just have to put them down ourselves I guess.
  17. Theyre arent gonna bring in a crappy lefty to face Rizzo are they? Cuz that almost never works and really takes up a lot of time.
  18. This team would be completely fine if Willson Contreras didnt exist*, and he was the most valuable player on the team from opening day right up until he got hurt. (In my opinion) No real point to that except to point out what an amazing job theo/hoyer did in acquiring Avila and Rivera midseason when we werent the only team looking for catching, and catcher is such a difficult position to fill midseason. Edit: * as long as next year didnt exist either
