Not so much a bad call. He was great in spring and showed improvement. I'm sure Lou will pound into him not to be so aggresive with 2 balls. If he is to get better, he needs to be in those game situations and learn from them. it was a bad call. his decision to replace murton with theriot was a bad call, too. You would've stuck with Floyd? Ideally, Murton wouldn't have been PR for, so Theriot would've been the one that hit there.

Against Griffey? I would rather see Eyre out there than Wuertz against Griffey. Wuertz is better against LH

I don't necessarily agree that Wuertz should have come in in place of Howry, but Marquis should have pitched the 7th. Other than that, that's the only second guessing I'm doing on this game. The 8th was this inning, Wuertz instead of Eyre.

Because Ward and Floyd are LH, so the options are Cedeno and Blanco since Lou decided Murton needed a PR for some reason.

Howry started the inning. I don't understand why Marquis couldn't go another inning. He was only at 82 pitches and he was pretty effective. I thought they said 92. Gameday says 82.
