  1. I wonder if that's related to this?
  2. Zambrano(with a window to guarantee an extension) + Jones for Santana/Weaver + Kendrick?
  3. Update First 3 Starts: 9/10 K/BB, 28/17 GO/FO, 1.23 WHIP, 17 IP Last 4 Starts: 15/3 K/BB, 43/37 GO/FO, 0.72 WHIP, 30.2 IP
  4. Did you know.... Last year Murton hit .212/.257/.227/.484 last June, in 70 PA's(to compare, he has 57 or 60 this year, depending on if BR has updated or not). He then went on to put up an OPS north of .900 for the last 3 months(~250 PA's). The sample is not nearly enough to be decisive about his future.
  5. this has never, ever been funny Was it suppose to be? what other purpose would it have? Go mow your yard Derwood = Nick? possibly oh crap, who's nick? Todd Walker's biggest fan.
  6. Click the Options button in the upper-right hand corner, you can get rid of the 3D stuff and the excessive animations.
  7. You're really going to use that as an argument? It wouldn't have been very difficult to find someone better than Dusty, or at the very least someone who wouldn't turn our starters' shoulders into hamburger.
  8. Injuries like Lee, yeah. But the whole Prior/Wood thing it took him years to come up with a contingency for, and he's the one who enabled Dusty to drive our pitchers into the ground.
  9. David Wright? I think Wright came up as a comp for Vitters, although he's probably not quite the player Wright is.
  10. Calling Soriano a short-term experiment at leadoff in order to jumpstart his bat shows a staggering lack of baseball knowledge.
  11. Both my fantasy teams hope so. On Villanueva, he's not having a very good start to the year. A near 1 K/BB, and his WHIP is 1.34 while having a lower than expected .194 BAA doesn't bode well for his future outings. Of course, with his past success his peripherals will likely improve, but I felt compelled to point it out anyway. Gallardo is good.
  12. Sweet name. The first half anyway. So far this year he's got a .279 BA with a .405 OBP and an 866 OPS. Sounds like a decent hitter, thought USS Mariner says his defense is questionable. I give this trade no percent chance of happening, but we'll see. Yeah, in BA's handbook they list him as a 2B, and say his big body will probably get him moved off of SS. Hopefully he would become a better version of DeRosa.
  13. Ironically, you can catch Bill Walton calling games televised on ESPN, but you won't find him writing for SI. He's the exception to the rule. To be fair, I'm not sure Walton is actually capable of coherent writing.
  14. USS Mariner thinks that a Jacque Jones for Sean Rodriguez (Career stats 2007 stats) works well for both teams. While Rodriguez isn't an immediate addition to the big league club, I'm inclined to agree with him.
  15. On the other hand, Barrett is a pretty healthy guy and he's 6'3" 210 lb.
  16. it's his equivalent of Bonds' elbow armor. The leagues should really require valid medical reasons for wearing extraneous stuff on their body How is it equivalent to Bonds' elbow pad? What advantage does Hamilton get by wearing the mask, aside from peace of mind?
  17. that's because he's not fouling him
  18. Crimeny, Sweetney is a house.
  19. I would have been willing to bet that Wuertz could have gotten out of 7th and not given up the lead as Howry did. I'd would have been willing to bet that the offense, with Murton instead of Izturiz would have scored more than the 3 they needed to get to the 10th. It's as reasonable to bet that Wuertz would have kept walking hitters as to assume he would have got out of the mess he helped to create. A reliever cannot come into a game late and walk the first hitter he faces. That's unacceptable. Yet not in the same realm of unacceptacality(it's a word, look it up) as getting pissed of at a walk and yanking a guy because of it to send a reactionary "message". We were nearly screwed in extra innings yesterday because he could've kept Wuertz in to finish the 7th, and instead he burned Wuertz, Ohman, and had Howry throw some pitches for good measure.
  20. Maybe it's partially the receivers he has, but it appears to me that Henne throws a remarkably accurate deep ball. Am I crazy?
  21. I think we're due for a "Outshined and Raisin are super awesome for the work they put into these threads" post. Why is Gallagher's info listed?
