  1. Marshall's curveball is absolutely shredding the Braves.
  2. Bruce Froemming sees if he can manage to screw the Cubs over, decides it's too obvious and gives up the HR.
  3. Yeah, what's it called across the pond? I've seen it just called "Hooligans" before. And yeah, I liked it. No idea as to how accurate a portrayal it was, and there's really very little soccer, but it's an interesting film.
  4. Marshall looks really sharp today. He had decent numbers in his first two starts but was getting hit pretty hard. Curveball has great bite.
  5. I think something like that would piss Z off. I know it shouldn't, especially if he had a chance at making a World Series run and then resigning with us, but I could see that bruising his ego. If you talk to him beforehand, he could understand. Show him how the same thing happened to Ponson.
  6. My hatred for Juan Pierre is probably unhealthy.
  7. He's also been rather lucky so far this season. I like the .067 IsoD, but still, something tells me he's not going to be anything more than an average everyday starter in the majors. Kroeger is also nearly 25 years old, hopefully Pie will play everyday in Chicago so there's a roster spot for Kroeger to try to hit in Iowa.
  8. I'm not sure he's allowed to even be at the ballpark. And yeah, you have to suspend Lou, if only for a game. I mean, it was hilarious to watch and all, but he repeatedly kicked dirt on the ump and kicked his hat all over the field, definitely excessive.
  9. You win. Soriano's spot in the order is not the problem, or even a problem at all. And moving him in the order to put Pie of all people in the leadoff spot would be an awful decision.
  10. An alternative way to look at it, is that the Cubs just need to gain a game every 2 weeks to win the division.
  11. to get him to 100 career caps Jeez, wait for a friendly that Howard can't make it to, or didn't already start. In related news, I'm watching Green Street Hooligans right now.
  12. yeah, I looked and saw OSU loaded the bases, then next time I checked it was 14-3. Bummer for your guys, but I still hope Creighton eliminates them tomorrow. Arkansas eliminated + Mizzou win = Super Regionals in Columbia, yes? P.S. Jacob Priday is a God among boys. Yes, and it would = me going to Columbia to see it. And yes, Priday looks like he's played baseball before. How far do you think that second home run went, about 450 feet?
  13. Yayyyyy Cavaliers Yayyyyy Boobie Gibson
  14. Rios was a high school hitter. Even when Rich Hill sucked there was still the stuff that gave him the potential to be good, like an insane strikeout ratio. Samardzija isn't going to be a star unless he strikes out some guys. He didn't do it in college, and it's gotten worse in his early professional career. The "Wilken is smarter than you, lol" argument is weak. Why not say why Wilken would think he's going to pan out?
  15. yeah, I looked and saw OSU loaded the bases, then next time I checked it was 14-3. Bummer for your guys, but I still hope Creighton eliminates them tomorrow.
  16. Because the people they would replace have been abominable. Not incredibly difficult to do better than Jones' 74 OPS+, or Eyre's 54 ERA+.
  17. I wasn't looking at the TV during that play, but Cleveland has gotten a lot of the calls today. And Wallace completely lost his mind and may have killed the series for Detroit.
  18. Another thing to consider is there's a chicken-egg relationship between pitchers and defense, since the pitcher is completely responsible for the type of balls he receives in the field.
  19. Daniel Gibson can shoot the basketball. Cavs up 12 with 8:11 left.
  20. I actually saw something in the paper about this the other day. The Blue Jays and White Sox played a 2-0 game earlier this week in 1:50, and the paper said it was the 2nd fastest game this year. They didn't say which was the fastest.
  21. Mizzou hangs on to win 7-5, they'll face the winner of the Louisville/Miami rematch. Last I saw, UIC was beating UCLA 1-0 in the 4th.
  22. yessssssss go pokes go Mizzou leads Louisville 6-4 in the 9th and they've still got 1st and 3rd with one out.
  23. No, they're still a little worse. Right now we're at the number 5 draft pick, solid work.
