  1. Pie gets hosed on a strike three call, nowhere near a strike
  2. Yeah, either eject Hudson right there, or give the Cubs some leeway to retaliate.
  3. Gerald Perry about to fistfight Tschida like he did Dave Duncan. He looks hilarious when he's mad.
  4. Thank you for your hilariously awful pitch selection Francoeur
  5. Honestly, who does Willie Harris think he is?
  6. We're 4.5 games behind the Braves and their postseason odds are near 30% worse than us, hahaha
  7. Pie has to learn to hit LHP some time. Since the callup he went 1 for 4 with an RBI single and no K's against James. He hasn't looked overmatched, and more importantly, he played and Pagan did not. Even if he does struggle against them, he'll still be a signifcantly better defender than Pagan, in a lineup with 3 great RH hitters(Lee, Ramirez, Soriano), and several more with outstanding splits against LHP(Barrett, DeRosa, Murton), so he's not going to drag the offense down.
  8. Soriano now tied with Utley for 6th in MLB in OPS. Lee is 7th and Ramirez is 13th.
  9. Yeah, Lou pretty much tries to put the wrong relievers in, it's the only logical explanation.
  10. Right, and it goes beyond just last year too. There's a significant difference in every year of his career but one, IIRC.
  11. Good thing he's leading off. Wouldn't want to waste any of those HRs by having guys on in front of him. By putting Izturis and the P right in front of him, we've virtually guaranteed that 90% of the HRs he hits will be solo shots. Well done, Cubs. Well done. Better solo HR than no HR at all. And better 2- or 3-run HR than solo. Missing the point. Soriano is significantly better in that spot in the order. Why, I don't know, but there's enough of a sample for it not to be a fluke. You take him out of that spot and the solo HR turn into flyouts(intentional oversimplification).
  12. Did I see that right.. the Cardinals have Todd Wellemeyer pitching on Sunday? Are you serious? Are they hurting that bad? Their rotation consists of Wainwright(who's been mediocre), Wells(who's been awful), Braden Looper, Wellemeyer, and Brad Thompson
  13. I bet Lee had half a mind to just truck Boyer to see what it feels like from that side.
  14. Texas busted it open, they lead Milwaukee 6-1 including an RBI double from Sosa. The Angels got 3 in their half of the 5th, it's 4-3 Cardinals in the bottom half.
  15. EPatt was at 2nd last night too, definitely good news. He's 0 for 2 tonight(no K's), and Soto is 1 for 2 with a single, he's at 1B tonight.
  16. Texas gets 2 and leads Milwaukee 2-1 after 2. Kelly Stinnett is 2-2 with a HR and an RBI single, Eckstein now up with 2 on, 2 out in a 4-0 game in the bottom of the 4th.
  17. Even if it rains, it doesn't look serious enough that they couldn't resume it.
