That wishful thinking as unfortunately Hill didn't accompany Barrett to SD. Also, I really hope this isn't the last trade that sees a player who needed to leave, leave. I didn't necessarily mean immediately, Soto's still nursing a shoulder injury. Maybe Blanco will need that surgery and be forced to retire.

Davenport translations are garbage. I have to say that I'm intrigued by the possibility of a Bowen/Soto platoon at catcher.

You'd think Lalas could figure it out after the MLS All-Stars(in mid-season form) barely beat a Chelsea team that was in pre-season mode(and I don't think they had their full squad either). Of course, he was saying the exact same thing doing commentary during that game, so I guess that's expecting a bit much of him.

The loss of 1 WS may or may not kill us this year. Losing 5.6M next year when we have to re-sign Z, v 2.0 may for a long time kill us. Who knows what will happen with the new owners? Maybe they walk in and say 100M and thats it. You can then wave bye to Z, v 2.0 over Barrett, who by the way wont be back either. For the record that was Hoffpauir (who just turned 27 and who is now up to 320/358/532), Howry, and either a prospect (other than Guzman/Marmol) or more pen help in Cotts or Cherry depending on what the Braves wanted/needed. But thanks for totally simplifying the argument and making it ridiculous. Throwing in assorted mediocrity like middle relievers and minor league pitchers(NOT these good ones though) doesn't make it less ridiculous.

Kendall 2004: 20.7 LD%, .340 BABIP 2005: 22.0 LD%, .290 BABIP 2006: 23.9 LD%, .326 BABIP 2007: 19.5 LD%, .249 BABIP Pretty similiar. Missing the point. Barrett has been unlucky this year, he's a very good bit to improve offensively for the remainder of the year, as evidenced by his .831 OPS this month. Barrett's line if/when his BABIP evens out: ~.285/.340/.480 Kendall, on the other hand, will still be an offensive wasteland even if/when his BABIP evens out. If his BABIP jumps up to .300, he'll still be about .275/.315/.340(and that SLG/IsoP is very generous considering Kendall's past), which is awful and well below what Barrett is even at now.
