  1. Olerud had a higher RC/27. formula please are you suggesting that if you replaced Sosa with Olerud on the 98 Cubs that the team would have scored more runs? Link
  2. Boy am I glad we gave Marquis that 3 year deal. I think right now, Gallagher would put up better numbers than Marquis and for a whole hell lot cheaper. Chalk this up as another one of Jim Hendrys finest... Who would've been starting from April thru June had we not had Marquis?
  3. Become a Saints fan, they're going to be winning a whole lot of games in the next few years. Bears will be winning more. He had it right with his first inclination. You know me, between the Cubs and Mizzou, I'm practically a wins mercenary.
  4. Did they double switch? Z made the last out in the 5th.
  5. Before Tim started NSBB, he was SanClementeFan at Cubs.com
  6. haha, SCF, how fitting
  7. First Bob Sanders, now you? I mean, I don't blame you guys. I heart the Bears. No, it's not like I'm abandoning my previous team when they became incompetent jailbirds. I've just never been heavy into one team, and after thinking about it, why would I be a Bucs fan? And besides, I could always take up the Rams or the Chiefs, they're local now.
  8. I'm actually re-evaluating my football fandom at the moment. I've never been all that passionate about any team, and I really have no attachment to the Bucs other than I followed them before. But then do I stay hometown and become a Bears fan? Does that make me a bandwagoner? Consider me "questioning" as my association right now.
  9. When's the last time Floyd homered? Remember when Bell Bottom Jeans made a comeback? Well, it was when they originally came out that Floyd last went deep.
  10. I'll say, I bet he's the only guy in the league below zero.
  11. Carlos, your first innings piss me off so much.
  12. If you just wanted to set up message boards for them, another option would be to do sub-forums in Social, or alongside social in Non-Baseball talk.
  13. The main reason is the opinions he espoused as a TV guy and (especially) as a radio guy lead many people to believe he would be terrible at making decisions for a MLB team.
  14. All are welcome. Where's that photoshop of Totti going off the diving board? Also, I probably hate Gattuso more than any other player in the world. More than Blanco or Oswaldo Sanchez? Or pretty much any player on the Mexican team, for that matter. Ooh, I had forgotten about Sanchez, he may have to be Arch Villian 1A.
  15. So we've got speculation about McDonough, and then....I don't even know what to call the second one. "One of the guys who could be owner has ties to a restaurant guy that's friends with Steve Stone". That = Steve Stone 4 Front Office?
  16. I may have missed it, but is Oswaldo Martinez hurt? He was pitching regularly but hasn't thrown since July 16.
  17. Hernandez getting burned by the extra base hit today. 4/0 K/BB, but a HR, and 3 doubles have killed him. 6-0 Peoria trails.
  18. If he can't even get the trade right then how much can I trust the rest of his info. Uh, that's right.
  19. That example doesn't make sense though. It's not like a game show where we can only see this guy's SLG and only see this other guy's OBP, and you make a decision from there. You can see both, so both should be used. I agree. I was saying that someone who puts up a .550-.600 slugging will inevitably also have a high OBP (unless he's Alfonso Soriano). The guy with a .400 OBP will have a solid slugging percentage, but not necessarily an elite one Again, you know what both the OBP and SLG are. There's no point in saying "more likely to", you have it. Unless you're talking about projecting from year to year(which it appears you're not), and even that is an entirely different discussion.
  20. That example doesn't make sense though. It's not like a game show where we can only see this guy's SLG and only see this other guy's OBP, and you make a decision from there. You can see both, so both should be used.
  21. yahoo has died, can someone bring the inning up to date for me since Cherry grounded out?
