  1. PMR(at least I think it was PMR) had DeRosa as one of the best defensive RF in the game last year.
  2. This took me a minute I'm ashamed to say, but it was well worth it.
  3. My bad guys, I mixed up IMB! and Burnt since they both changed their names to something cinco. IMB is actually up now, Burnt has the 5th pick.
  4. Kendall was on 2nd when Murton pinch-hit in the 9th. True, my bad. Either way, one man on while down 5 in the 9th is a lower leverage situation than 2 on with 1 out down 4 in the 7th.
  5. Epatt? We have to be nearing the record for most people added to the 40-man in one season. And we clearly have a shortage of middle infielders. Epatt has been playing some CF lately. Still have to wonder why they wouldn't just bring up Pie. Exactly...why bring up a guy to play him out of position, when your top propsect that you would trade at the deadline is ready to come up and learn at the major league level? A couple half-baked reasons: He can play IF and OF He's a "leadoff hitter" and they don't want to move Theriot from the 2 spot. They plan on playing him at 2B so his OF ability doesn't matter. Or he's taking Fontenot's role with DeRosa being a full-time OF while Soriano's gone.
  6. I say you burn Jones there. There's likely to only be one more PH opportunity, so you're probably better off getting the best possible hitter up with 2 on and 1 out than saving him for whatever situation comes up later when the game is possibly out of reach(actually happened) and the bottom of the order is setting up the PH(no one on actually happened).
  7. That's a pretty poor extrapolation. First of all, Ramirez missing the rest of the season in that case is 5 weeks. That timeframe puts Soriano back for the last 15 or so games plus the playoffs. Also, the Cubs were way out of contention by late August of 2005. There was no reason for Ramirez to come back to play 5-10 meaningless games.
  8. Some of the blame goes to the infielders on this one. They needed to let him know that the runner was tagging. The only way that is on the infield is if they're telling him "no tag". Pagan also looked awful tracking Reyes' triple.
  9. 2 for 4 with a walk his last start, 3 for 10 with 2 walks since being called up.
  10. Since the Cubs have done the unconventional with about every callup this year, I'm going to say that EPatt comes up.
  11. Lou's going to need to get creative now to keep Murton(and Pie if he takes Soriano's roster spot) out of the lineup. I look forward to seeing how he pulls it off.
  12. Didn't the Tigers just sign a pretty good SS? Guillen is moving to 1B eventually.
  13. I think we should've known that Foster's zone wasn't going to be that great when he said his left eye went fuzzy after he got hit on the right side of his face. What a criminal call against Murton.
  14. Anything less than a grand slam in his next at bat will result in all future 9th inning playing time being revoked. It's a test of his will, considering he's due up 3rd.
  15. Miller with the nearly sheer yellow dress shirt. Not a good choice.
  16. I hate the "there's one LH batter in the next 5 so it's okay to bring Ohman in for the whole inning" logic. I'd rather Wuertz be pitching around Delgado with 2 out and the bases empty than Ohman going after him with a couple baserunners on.
