  1. Or hitting a home run that's the difference in the game, like on Friday. Or taking a walk, which he takes a ton of.
  2. Frankly, I think Milwaukee matches up better with San Francisco than anyone else. San Francisco has good pitching, but they need help across the diamond and power bats in the worst way. LaPorta would be a great fit as a RH power hitter. Alcides Escobar would be a massive upgrade over whatever they trot out there at SS (as would many other people). Cole Gillespie would fit in nicely in RF. Angel Salome would be a good fit, considering Bengie Molina will turn 35 next year. I don't see why Milwaukee doesn't try making a run at Cain or Lincecum. Everyone matches up well with the Giants, outside of some starting pitching(which "you can never have too much of" anyway), they are completely devoid of any meaningful talent. I wanted to go after Cain earlier, and I still do now if he's available.
  3. I had to cheat to finish. I couldn't remember Stanford(what's wrong with me), DePaul, Marquette, and Cincy. Stupid Big East.
  4. Was this in response to me? Because mine was in response to SSR pointing out that since their hot start the Cardinals are just one game over .500. I simply found the Cubs record during that same time. Both of you.
  5. Vitters hitting .348/.370/.522/.892 after those first two at bats.
  6. On the other hand, that was the second straight at bat where Ankiel looked completely awful against good sliders from RHP. Marmol threw 3 of them and Ankiel only barely made contact with one, then Wood started the same way.
  7. Using the completely arbitrary point of May 6. Since then: Cubs: 33-22, .600 Cards: 28-27, .509 At that pace for the rest of the season: Cubs: 96-66 Cards: 87-75
  8. He's the hardest to strike out, especially when he gets to keep hitting after swinging and missing at strike 3.
  9. He looked fine, the two fly balls were skied, so it wasn't as if they were particularly well struck. Ankiel looked foolish on several sliders.
  10. Seriously, is this the camera angle or something? I've never seen Lilly throw a sub-70 mph breaking ball that looked like that before.
  11. Did Kosuke think that pitch was deep? What's he waiting for?
  12. Who are you arguing with? Did you just see that a recent draftee was mentioned in a positive light and started in on this diatribe?
  13. Vitters' hitting streak will come to an end tonight, he's 0/4 with 2 K's. Flaherty is 0/3 with a BB and K, and Ridling is 3/4 with a HR. Bristow had a strong debut, 2 IP, 2 H, 4/0 K/BB
  14. Overall: 94.1 IP, 59/53 K/BB Iowa: 18 IP, 15/11 K/BB
  15. Getting all 3 of LaRoche, Hu, and McDonald would be a real nice package for the Indians.
