  1. 7 million team option for next year (no buyout, arbitration eligible otherwise), FA after '09.
  2. PAP is Pitcher Abuse Points, a metric from BP. Marshall and Gallagher are strong insurance policies if Hill can't get the magic back.
  3. Terrified, mortified, petrified, stupefied, by you. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48875
  4. Buy low on Burnett, hope Hill has turned a corner. Best case is Zambrano/Dempster/Burnett/Lilly/Hill forming the deepest rotation in the game. Worst case one of Dempster/Burnett/Hill should be very strong to complement Z in the playoff rotation.
  5. I'm really glad it wasn't called now, but didn't it look like that ball hit Fukudome in the foot?
  6. "What was my time, coach?" "I'm sorry son, I don't have a sun dial."
  7. Is Quade drunk? I forgot Fukudome was behind him, even worse.
  8. Lost a foul ball in the sun, it bounced on the dirt 10 feet in front of him.
  9. Jacob McGee? Lewis Rollins? It's times like these I wish I had bought the BA Prospect Handbook. Looking through the Rays affiliates, Jeremy Hellickson had an 83/5 K/BB ratio in 76.2 IP at High A. That's not a typo.
  10. Typical Cubs/Cards tilt. Do blowouts ever happen when these two teams play. I think I remeber a game in 98 where the Cards scored a bajillion runs in the first inning but that's about all I can remember. We were blowing them out the one year up 8 I think and proceeded to lose on Pujols' 3rd bomb. Taguchi of all people went deep too, what an awful game that was.
  11. Wonder what the gameplan is here. I say go with Cotts thru Ankiel, then Gallagher through at least Molina.
  12. Great at bat by Theriot, good job of wearing down Perez in his second inning of work. Remember that if Lee or Ramirez get big hits.
  13. Perez is a power right hander, he's more likely to mow down Johnson, or worse, induce a double play ball. It was nicely placed and gave him a chance at a hit, so it's not too terrible a move.
  14. Who does he replace though? He's not better than Quentin, Drew, Bradley, or Sizemore.
  15. How coincidental that DeRosa is the one to get beaned when he finally leads off an inning.
  16. He was awfully close though, and could've short hopped it if he just missed. Can't blame him either way, IMO. Attaboy Marshall, way to bear down
  17. He missed the glove, but it was over the plate around the knees, it looked like a strike to me. Gah, Geo.
  18. Seriously, the only thing worse than how Johnson handled that was how terrible Mather looked trying to catch it.
  19. Oh man, Hardy + LaPorta for Sabathia would be amazing. The downgrade from Hardy to Escobar alone would negate much of what Sabathia would add.
  20. Looks like it, the Red Sox only got 6. EDIT: I may have lied, they haven't done AL Relievers yet.
  21. Why would chipper opt out? Injury? Yeah, he's been in and out of the lineup for like a month.
  22. Ramirez will get in if Chipper opts out, which has a decent likelihood of happening. I bet you see Marmol on the last man fan vote, they put several non-closers on that ballot last year.
