  1. i figure there's enough in Iowa to get a deal done for a good starter anyway. especially/hopefully when some of our prospects add even more their value with a few good months of play. It probably depends on the details. One of the reasons I like trading for Gray(outside of him being feasibly available) is that Beane likely won't be as insistent on MLB/MLB ready guys as other GMs. If the Indians tank the first half and think about trading Carrasco, then I'm pretty sure Soler or Baez is a hard requirement given how much of our Top 10 is below AA.
  2. Honestly, the biggest hit to the team's overall chances is that trading one of Soler/Baez for pitching becomes a much dicier proposition, and even that's not a lock to be needed if you're remotely optimistic about Warren(or unless one of Arrieta/Lester go down long term).
  3. I would guess it means he's definitely not doing any more catching this year, which would be a pretty big blow to any hopes of him being a primary catcher in the future. So if you're envisioning LH Buster Posey that dream probably dies with an ACL injury, but if you're envisioning deluxe Ryan Doumit that catches ~30 games a season, I'd say that's still obtainable even with a lost catching year.
  4. Goldschmidt watched 3 straight strikes looking for a low and away slider
  5. I suggest trading Arrieta for a package of Wainwright, Carlos Martinez, and Piscotty.
  6. He pitched the 9th on Tuesday. Interesting that he's pitching this inning. I wonder if Rondon goes the 8th if Strop goes 1-2-3 so he faces Goldschmidt and Peralta.
  7. La Stella startin' up the DP, you wouldn't even know he's only played 52 innings at third before tonight that's why they call him the natural
  8. he does seem too great to be a mere man, doesn't he almost as great as one bryan lahair and robinson chirinos I'm sure those folks have many hobbies, I'm referring to baseball players
  9. His command is terrible today. That's a positive because even if his stuff declined you wouldn't expect it to evaporate overnight, so it'll improve. If his stuff was flat/not good then ballpark might explain it but age-specific decline could too.
  10. Lackey there are exactly 2 good hitters in this lineup. Just walk those two and get the rest out, although I reserve the right to renege on this theory if you continue giving up home runs to trash middle infielders
  11. this offense is so gloriously relentless, it's cheering me up
  12. I think so, if for no other reason than it might not kill his catching career.
  13. One day people will stop complaining about La Stella, hopefully before that secret planet destroys us all in a month
  14. If I'm looking for a silver lining, at least it wasn't planted and didn't have any weight on it.
  15. did he tweak the leg or did he get racked? its' the knee ugh
