Baez is seeing about as many pitches per plate appearance as Rizzo, and more than Soler, Bryant, and Zobrist. -
Arrieta's K% is higher than it was last April, he's just giving up such weak contact when he isn't K'ing guys that he has fewer chances to tack on K's.

60 PA: http://www.fangraphs.com/library/principles/sample-size/ Which means 114 PA of 20% K rate with a .389 wOBA is a very good sign. Pitchers will adjust back again, but we can pretty safely say that Bryant made a meaningful and positive change. We'll have to wait and see exactly how sustainable that improvement is.

Right now Bryant has a .395 wOBA. Here's the list of hitters last year with at least a .390 wOBA that were not 1B or corner outfielders: Trout Donaldson* The list from the year before: Trout* McCutchen And from 2013: Trout McCutchen* Tulo Asterisks represent MVP winners.

Yeah, the idea wasn't that Zobrist only ever plays one position, but that he has a consistent defensive home so he didn't end up with a distribution like he did in 2012(where he played at least 47 games at 3 positions). I'm having a hard time with this because I really want Bryant to play 3B as much as possible. Not because I think he's the best 3B ever or anything, but because I want him to get consistent play there so in 2017 and beyond we don't have to question his ability to go back there. The ideal at this point would be to have Zobrist shift to LF until Soler takes playing time away from Baez/La Stella or the Baez/La Stella platoon fails. But given the first paragraph that might be a tricky thing to do from a people management standpoint. -

It doesn't make any sense. Kang got hurt in the top of the first inning of that game, and no Cubs were hit afterward, intentional or otherwise. The idea that they stewed on the injury and then unleashed their fury in the 7th inning of their next meeting(after they had already hit Russell on accident) is more than hard to imagine. They were salty that they got beat(with their ace on the hill, and by the team ahead of them that ended their season last year) and probably annoyed that Marte was banged up(by getting hit for the league leading 6th time already), so they threw at Zobrist to retaliate. It was dumb and they are dumb for doing it.
