That is maybe the Wrigley-est home run possible. Popped straight in the air, wind carries it at least 20 extra feet, lands in the basket in the shallow alley.

I had that thought for a moment too, but at the same time, Galvis didn't have to range far, and if that was hit right at someone in a normal fielding position it's a clear cut error, so I think that's the right call.

A TOOTBLAN for Fowler but he mitigated his mistake by stopping. A lot of people would've just kept going to 3rd and not gotten the trailing runner to 2nd.

They called the runner out for leaving the baseline before Zobrist even got the ball to first. This is also why the run doesn't count, since that and the forceout happened before he crossed the plate.

Zobrist is not good at handling those types of plays, so thank you whoever that was for leaping out of the baseline to make that decision for him.

More to Velasquez the pitcher, it looks like once some video got out on him teams have started hitting him a bit better. After his first two starts(15 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 25/3 K/BB), he's got a 3.87 ERA (4.58 RA) and hitters are hitting .262/.333/.454/.787.

As much as I really like and want Teheran, something has to materially change in the next 6 weeks in order for him to be acquired. I mean, the worst ERA in the rotation is Lackey at 3.38, the worst FIP Hammel at 3.35. Someone has to get hurt or start tanking for a strong SP to be in the cards. That said, especially since Warren's control hasn't been so great as to inspire confidence if we don't add a starter, I wonder if they beef up the bullpen with someone who could potentially fill in as a SP, in a similar fashion as they did last year with Richard and Cahill. Matusz has been mentioned before, Hill was thought of this way(although that's increasingly unrealistic), someone like Drew Hutchison maybe?
