  1. FWIW he looks much more pleased in the reaction to Fowler's home run where he's congratulating Miggy https://streamable.com/m8l8
  2. for anyone who wants to inject the Montero HR into their eyeballs over and over again: https://streamable.com/4sqc
  3. Yeah, walking Heyward to get to Baez but sticking with Blanton to face Montero is a curious bit of anti-logic. He must have been some combination of consumed with getting to Chapman's spot in the order and terrified of Contreras facing Dayton.

  5. Against all odds, Blanton was really good this year and was serving his normal role as setup to Jansen.
  6. Was Buck being insufferable about Javy? No, he really gave Pedro Baez the business for the human rain delay routine. He did all but say 'HEY WASN'T THAT LIKE THE BARTMAN PLAY' on the Rizzo foul ball in the 8th though.
  7. regardless of result, I love that Rizzo gets a look at Dayton in a low leverage environment, he's all about deception so more reps to pick him up could pay dividends later
  8. OMG PLEASE GIF ME BLANTON'S LOOK AFTER FOWLER'S HOME RUN
  9. I was literally halfway through a criticism of Joe for not just going straight to Contreras
  10. Montgomery enticed a LH pinch hitter and then got him to hit a weak flare, and Chapman is the ideal guy to get K's when you desperately need them. Especially since Rondon didn't get used you can pull Chapman earlier if circumstances dictate too, but Chapman for 6 outs isn't really a problem. Except that Chapman for six outs with guys on base never works and Chapman himself hates it. Dammit Russell with bases loaded no outs, giving up 2 runs is pretty much a base expectation. Chapman not exceeding it isn't failure, but he was one pitch away regardless
  11. Once he decided to pull Lester, which has good logic either way, Joe has managed the pen perfectly. I can't see how letting Montgomery start the 8th and then trying the whole 'Chapman in the eighth for a six out save' thing again is perfect. 13. so we have a sawed off bloop, a walk where 2 of the balls are strikes, and a groundball hit to the exact perfect spot fun
  14. I think the 4th is great because of the 3rd, and the 3rd was out of the zone and almost impossible for a guy with Joc's swing to do damage with.
  15. He's welcome to since Edwards crushes lefties and righties alike
  16. this is a good decision, score runs, you have an elite pen
