  1. I want a photoshop where Boone's scorecard is a crayon drawing and I want it now
  2. easy there encyclopedia britannica my memory can only go back to the 3rd inning
  3. In fairness no one has hit a ball anywhere near that far in at least an hour.
  4. Jonathan Holder, who is definitely not an amalgamation of fake video game players come to life, on to pitch for the Yankees
  5. Bryant needed to throw to Baez later and Baez needed to throw sooner
  6. why do they hate Montgomery and not want him to start edit: I guess with the off day he still could
  7. if I'm Jay I stand on 2nd base, there's literally no good things that can happen to you now
  8. I wonder if Heyward has ever gone 20+ innings without an appearance as a Cub
  9. someone tell me more about how irresponsible the Cubs are for letting Schwarber play the outfield
  10. Pen is still fine. At the moment they can go Duensing/Strop/Rondon/Davis to finish tomorrow and Davis would be the only one not on 2 days rest, and Davis was on 2 days rest today.
  11. He has a career ERA in the 2's over a career that spans a decade. Not an accident.
  12. advancements implies that he was bad at it before(I don't think that's the case), but yes, Russell was very good on high fastballs last year, especially in the second half
  13. it didn't really look that close to the wrist It hit him right on the bone at the outside of the wrist from what I saw.
  14. that leaderboard they just showed with Davis having the best ERA since 2014, I just ran it for a 100 IP minimum out of curiosity and got the same result. Fun fact: the worst ERA in that timeframe belongs to Eddie Butler. edit: if you drop the minimum to 50 IP the worst is Aaron Brooks, I'm not sure how to feel about this
  15. They don't have similar repertoires, but in terms of consistency I think he bears a lot in common with Mike Wuertz. When he's good he's very, very good, but that comes so rarely between issues with control and/or command that it adds up to a guy who is a middle reliever on a contender.
  16. horsefeathers really? I guess that makes sense. Going from historically great to bottom 5 in def eff helps explain going from best starters ERA in baseball to bottom 5 in baseball. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/sortable/index.php?cid=975507 Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk You're looking at 2011, the Cubs are currently 17th. They were 3rd or 4th when I checked a couple weeks back, which doesn't surprise me since it coincides with the rotation going 5 IP and giving up rockets the first time through the order for 20 straight games.
  17. "look at him kick it into gear here" *Judge slows down realizing he'll make it to 3rd easily*
  18. ESPN spends so much time catering their broadcast to the spouses, friends, etc that are only 'watching' because the game is on in the room they happen to be in.
  19. Yeah, but you have him under team control for a whopping one and a half years.
  20. Hedges has 12 K's in 12 IP in his last 2 outings, this is his season line now: 34.2 IP, 34 H, 23/5 K/BB, 2.08 ERA, 2 HR
