  1. Willson you hyperactive labradoodle will you just catch the ball for my sanity
  2. Isn't Willson supposed to be a good framer? He hasn't been doing Jake many favors, stabbing at a lot of balls. I also kinda feel his exaggerated movements on blocking balls in the dirt throws Jake off his rhythm by making it seem like those pitches are mini crises that are being averted. His framing was a bit above average last year, slightly worse this year thus far. That I can understand will come around(and Jake is a difficult pitcher to frame), but the pitch blocking and stuff like hanging on to tipped pitches are hurting him a lot. That's fine when he's a young catcher hitting like Posey, but his double just bumped him over a .700 OPS to start this season so you really want to see progress on either end.
  3. Willson I would like you to start catching/blocking the ball better or hit the ball more. Either is fine, but one is mandatory
  4. First 2 outings, but your point remains. 22 IP, 17 H, 4 R, 13/8 K/BB, 0 HR his last 4 starts.
  5. He's pitching fine, and he's also getting a little bit of the good fortune he's been owed over the last month.
  6. He did not, Myrtle Beach twitter lied to us.
  7. .345/.441/.655 in 34 PA Alzolay with a very nice outing too(although he might throw the 7th): 6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 8/1 K/BB, HR FIP-wise he's been pretty consistent year over year, but nice to see his ERA on the right side of that mark compared to last year.
  8. It was a playoff only thing that we reinstated because the site tends to become real sluggish right about the same time as opposing teams score runs.
  9. Eloy hit another HR, MiLB mistakenly had him replaced by Martinez. [tweet]https://twitter.com/pelicanbaseball/status/866360924193640454[/tweet]
  10. Okay, one more: http://www.brewcrewball.com/2017/5/21/15672120/brewers-cubs-rainout-david-stearns-craig-counsell-rain-delay http://memeguy.com/photos/images/don-draper-was-a-total-savage-251844.jpg
  11. Oh, I see that the idea is that the Cubs wanted an off day for their exhausted bullpen. The same bullpen where in the last 2 days(now 3), Davis and Edwards didn't pitch, and Strop, Rondon, and Uehara each pitched 1 inning. And Floro was called up for long relief. Yes, quite brilliant of the Cubs indeed.
  12. pretty devious of the Cubs to get their 3rd off day in 10 days and force their opponent the travel hassle of taking a 90 minute bus ride to get to the makeup game
  13. The last 24 hours for the Cardinals: - Oh blows a save, and they lose 6-5 at home to the Giants - Robert chooses the White Sox over the Cards who made a similar $$ offer - Adams finally gets traded/given away 9 months after it's clear he doesn't fit on the roster - Martinez goes 9 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB and a no-decision because the Cards don't score either and lose 3-1 in 13 innings, their 4th straight loss
  14. go Carl go [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. Prior to last night, Clifton's last 3 starts were 17 K in 17.2 IP. There's no 9 K/6 IP outing, but he had moved that direction after exceeding 4 K's once in his first 4 starts.
  16. Coomer thinks they played the same night as the hail in Colorado why do they let him do this
  17. I see Craig Counsell's imaginary friend is getting real hits against us again
  18. if I can be snarkily bitter, thank goodness we didn't start Montgomery, that guy walked too many people
  19. I'm gonna need a citation on this 'home team always goes 2nd' business myself
