I especially thought you'd know that bullpen are fickle. i do know that and it was a key part of my argument against giving up anything of value for a non-elite reliever wait, you're going to use Edwards imploding as justification for NOT upgrading the bullpen at the deadline? -
Since the All-Star break, Zobrist has been pretty much back to normal from an OBP perspective, and he's also getting plenty of day's off. The power still isn't there, but I doubt that's something that anything short of an offseason or simply more distance from the injury is going to help with.

It was very wide, and crappy footwork by Baez led to it. Rizzo whiffed on it. E6 but give Rizzo the assist Rizzo will be mad he didn't catch it, but Baez failed in decision and execution. Rizzo has been a little less sharp defensively this year, but I'm outright disappointed in Baez.

He has been pitching at an above average level for months. Also, there's little evidence that suggests his 2016 88 mph is actually different than his 2017 85 mph, especially since, and I can't emphasize this enough, he's been pitching at an above average level for months.

Hendricks has a 3.89 ERA this year, which is like a 110 ERA+. That also includes his crummy first couple starts, his ERA is 3.25 since the 3rd week of April. It's 2.91 since coming off the DL. In the time it took me to make this post he put up another scoreless inning too, so tick all of those down slightly.

La Stella isn't needed to shield Almora from RHP with Jay, Schwarber, Happ, and Zobrist around. SP haven't gone long recently so having Zastryzny to help in middle relief probably helps more than having an extra pinch hitter.

Can't say I expected the bullpen to turn into the character selection from Hotline Miami, but those guys get things done.

Yes, if you exclude the best games in a 20 game stretch because reasons, that 15 game line will look worse. Even if you inexplicably exclude the White Sox series, his OPS is like .785. Schwarber is getting shielded because he's being platooned at the moment, but the idea that he hasn't been good since coming back is hilarious.

Maybe I'm being a stick in the mud, but the breathless single start evaluations of pitch f/x numbers seem so tedious. Arrieta throws a super slider now! Hendricks' velocity has dipped so much that Contreras eats a sandwich while waiting to receive them! Wade Davis's Troublesome lack of Movement! (three days later) Wade Davis is BACK! It's just not insightful to me.

I've been thinking about this for 2 innings. No clue. Koji. Basically he throws 2 pitches in the same tunnel and you have to pick whether or not it's going to break. Godley throws as many curves as fastballs so it's literally a coin flip unless he spins it poorly or he's having trouble locating.
