  1. Close counts in Dustyball too...I can't believe that hasn't been mentioned yet.
  2. Right now I don't think that ARod could play SS very well. He's only listed at 225lbs, but ever since his move to 3B he's really put on some weight.
  3. http://northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=33354
  4. I was looking over his contract details over at Cot's, and this is really interesting; after this year his salary goes up to $27mil/ year and he may opt out after 2007 unless he gets an $8M/year raise or $1M more than MLB’s highest-paid player. That is rather crazy, maybe that's why they Yankees would even consider trading him.
  5. Petrick's 1st inning: Walk, Strikeout (called), Walk, IF single, single to RF (1 run scores), line drive single to Puello (1 run scores), DP ball to get out of it.
  6. Billy Petrick is in fact getting the start for the Hawks tonight.
  7. I hope the Boise game is able to be completed. The field looks wet and the skies in the background look rather ominous.
  8. I'd do it as long as the Yankees are picking up a significant amount of salary, and we're not giving up alot in terms of prospects.
  9. I'm looking forward to see if Colvin has adjusted his swing to the wood bat any, but judging from the stats I'd say he hasn't thus far.
  10. Because it is a new acquisition, but I'm being told that we traded it away at the peak of its value for a career A-ball player.
  11. They came close though, and that's what counts.
  12. C: Victor Martinez 1B: Mark Teixeira 2B: Jorge Cantu 3B: Hank Blalock SS: Jose Reyes OF: Manny Ramirez OF: Curtis Granderson OF: Alex Rios DH: David Ortiz SP: Matt Cain SP: Francisco Liriano SP: Johan Santana SP: Carlos Zambrano SP: Scott Kazmir RP: Jonathan Papelbon RP: Joe Nathan RP: Huston Street RP: Joel Zumaya RP: Akinori Otsuka RP: Francisco Rodriguez
  13. After a huge offensive explosion today it looks like the Cubs are still going to manage to blow the game so my question is who blows it? I think that Ohman is going to blow it...just a wild guess.
  14. Everyone but Lilly and Hackstedt got a hit today but Mesa is losing 4-2; Anderson drove in the only 2 runs. Holdzkom went 2 and didn't allow any, Castillo went 2.3IP and allowed 4H 3ER. The 4th run was an unearned run off of Astorga.
  15. I'm really looking forward to Sept. 9th OSU @ UT. I wish I could make it to the game but I'll probably be out of the state and not even get to watch it.
  16. I just drafted my first fantasy football team of the year and I'm pretty happy with it but I thought I'd get some opinions on it here too: QB- Ben Roethlisberger WR- Roy Williams WR- Lee Evans WR- Joe Horn RB- Clinton Portis RB- Julius Jones TE- Antonio Gates Bn- DeShaun Foster Bn- Laveranues Coles Bn- Michael Clayton Bn- Byron Leftwich K- Josh Brown K- David Akers Def- Dallas Bn- Washington
  17. I don't know what a normal elbow would look like post-op, but that is one huge incision in the photo of him doing rehab.
  18. Papelbon must have some nasty pitches or something. I remember Quaker saying he wasn't going much up into the 80's, but in relief of Samardzija he's gone 2IP with 4k and 1BB.
  19. With the way things are going Zambrano is gonna go 8IP with 22K's and he's gonna hit a grand slam but he'll end up getting a ND as the game is blown in the 9th and the White Sox win it in the 12th.
  20. I predict we lose out the first half so we'll have 60 losses, at that point the entire staff is cleaned out and the season is scrapped.
  21. I think we should all chip in and buy enough manure to completely cover all entrances and exits to Wrigley Field...I think that'd send a pretty clear message to everyone that we stink; what does everyone else think?
  22. I can't wait to hear Baker's post-game remarks: "Well, we came close today but a couple of mistakes by the youngsters really cost us today....I know I can win and I'm not going anywhere; we'll go get 'em tomorrow"
  23. Glass half full. Filled with what I'm not sure....vodka, whiskey or rum? I believe that soccer10k said he was donating a couple of kegs of the house brew :)
  24. Walker and Lee will reach...both will score to tie it on a Ramirez single, and then Jacque is going to win it; book it!
  25. Can you blame them? They might as well shovel manure onto the field...atleast it'd match the sh!t that we call a team on the field right now.
