I was looking over his contract details over at Cot's, and this is really interesting; after this year his salary goes up to $27mil/ year and he may opt out after 2007 unless he gets an $8M/year raise or $1M more than MLB’s highest-paid player. That is rather crazy, maybe that's why they Yankees would even consider trading him.
Petrick's 1st inning: Walk, Strikeout (called), Walk, IF single, single to RF (1 run scores), line drive single to Puello (1 run scores), DP ball to get out of it.

After a huge offensive explosion today it looks like the Cubs are still going to manage to blow the game so my question is who blows it? I think that Ohman is going to blow it...just a wild guess.
Everyone but Lilly and Hackstedt got a hit today but Mesa is losing 4-2; Anderson drove in the only 2 runs. Holdzkom went 2 and didn't allow any, Castillo went 2.3IP and allowed 4H 3ER. The 4th run was an unearned run off of Astorga.
I'm really looking forward to Sept. 9th OSU @ UT. I wish I could make it to the game but I'll probably be out of the state and not even get to watch it.
I just drafted my first fantasy football team of the year and I'm pretty happy with it but I thought I'd get some opinions on it here too: QB- Ben Roethlisberger WR- Roy Williams WR- Lee Evans WR- Joe Horn RB- Clinton Portis RB- Julius Jones TE- Antonio Gates Bn- DeShaun Foster Bn- Laveranues Coles Bn- Michael Clayton Bn- Byron Leftwich K- Josh Brown K- David Akers Def- Dallas Bn- Washington
Papelbon must have some nasty pitches or something. I remember Quaker saying he wasn't going much up into the 80's, but in relief of Samardzija he's gone 2IP with 4k and 1BB.
With the way things are going Zambrano is gonna go 8IP with 22K's and he's gonna hit a grand slam but he'll end up getting a ND as the game is blown in the 9th and the White Sox win it in the 12th.
I think we should all chip in and buy enough manure to completely cover all entrances and exits to Wrigley Field...I think that'd send a pretty clear message to everyone that we stink; what does everyone else think?
I can't wait to hear Baker's post-game remarks: "Well, we came close today but a couple of mistakes by the youngsters really cost us today....I know I can win and I'm not going anywhere; we'll go get 'em tomorrow"
Glass half full. Filled with what I'm not sure....vodka, whiskey or rum? I believe that soccer10k said he was donating a couple of kegs of the house brew :)
