  1. Lee finished the night 1-4 with an rbi. He was defensively subbed for in the top of the 8th.
  2. Ask the local liquor store if they've got any. From what I've seen, their brown paper bags are bigger than a lunch sack and smaller than a grocery sack.
  3. Only 1 run scored on Huber's double, the other gun scored on Guiel's ground out.
  4. Wells has given up a single, double, and an rbi groundout to the first 3 batters.
  5. Does anyone know who Omaha's 2nd starter will be? Since MacDougal is a relief pitcher I'm assuming that this will be a piggy-back start type of deal?
  6. Was it off of a RH or LH pitcher?
  7. Daytona's gun is a tick fast; I remember that Gallagher was clocked at 100-101 when he was down there.
  8. even better: five pitches. 2 to Pierre, 1 to Perez, 3 to Ramirez equals 6 to me.
  9. Anyone else think he uses a fungo bat during his at-bats? He's really good at hitting grounders to the infielders. 6-pitch inning for Santana. WTG Cobs!!! He's going to need less than 50 pitches for a CG.
  10. Randy Brown was drafted in the 33rd round by the Cubs in 04. he was taken as an OF but has converted into a P now.
  11. Was he really that useful in the first place? More useful than Bynum.
  12. Oddly enough, Samardzija is listed on Boise's roster on the MiLB.com website. I don't trust MiLB.com's rosters for Boise and Mesa. They're just guessing sometimes. I was basing it off BoiseHawks.com. Texascub, Wellington has been off their roster even before he got his AB a few days ago, so who knows. I just noticed that Farina is listed on both Boise's and Peoria's roster, so Wellington probably took his spot on Boise's roster.
  13. Also, C Wellington Castillo, who was supposed to be on Boise's roster isn't there. Wonder where he's headed (I thought he was more likely for Mesa than Boise at the start of the season). Ya, I noticed that Blake Lalli popped up on Boise's roster in his place. Maybe he's injured or having visa problems? I know he was talked very highly of during spring training. Castillo got an AB in Boise's second game of the season. He's no longer listed on their roster however, so I suspect and injury problem. With 4 catchers on Mesa's roster I can't see them demoting him, and he's only 19 I believe so Peoria would probably be rushing him.

  15. Heredia is 2/3 with 3SB and 2 runs scored now I believe. He was only 7-10 all of last year. It's also kind of strange that they're pretty much playing 3 catchers right now.
  16. nah, they'll DFA Walker I think it'll probably be Nevin because 1B is pretty much all he can play. With all of the cash the Rangers sent over, the Cubs really only owe Nevin $375k for the rest of the season so it'll be a cheap cut.
  17. Valerio Heredia must have some serious speed; in the first inning he had a bunt single and stole 2 bases (2B and Home). He's already 20 and his bat doesn't appear to fit at 3B, but he's a switch hitter with speed I bet he'll be up in the bigs soon.
  18. I think it's because we're a power team without power, and our pitchers are serving up the homers in Wrigley (94 HR allowed total, 2nd only behind the Reds and 50 of them are at home). The Cubs have also allowed the most opponent hits at home. Just look at the home stats for yourself: Link
  19. Best sinker in the system, this side of Big Z. Any reports on his velocity? He was in the mid-90s pre-surgery. There was no gun on the video feed and the announcer didn't mention it either. He did appear to have some zip on his throws though, I'd guesstimate he was around 89-92. I really don't recall him throwing many off speed pitches tonight, he leaned heavily on his fastball IMO...but I guess coming off of shoulder surgery that is probably best.
  20. Gilbert signed? I know he was a DFE but I thought he was going back to school. Also unless the Cubs are moving him back to 3B, he played OF pretty much all year this year.
  21. Yeah, I had Carson last year and loved him, but I can't see him being completely ready for a while. Yah, I picked up Vick, and while he's not the best, he should get me adequate yards if Palmer has problems. Also, I dislike my running backs. I'm working to fix that problem. Vick may cost you more points than he's worth. He was only 20th in passing yards, 18th in TDs, and his INT, sack, and fumbles are all rather high. It's a roll of the dice with him and I don't like his odds this year. The Falcons start out the year on the road at Carolina, at home against TB, at NO, and at home against Arizona. Three tough defenses in the first 4 weeks and Palmer should be ready by that point in the season.
  22. Ugh... 2 doubles, error, single, IF single, 3-R HR was the sequence when Blevins was pitching.
  23. Eugene leads 6-4 now, Jerry Blevins is getting hammered out there.
  24. Fleita will be on the air with the Hawks' announcer during the game tomorrow for those that would like to hear him.
