    Week 1

horsefeathers, I forgot to change my starters before the games started today. I was like 5 minutes late. So I am going to have 9 starts this week. I guess it's fine though since I'm going to lose regardless.
  2. After seeing Russell and Castro last year, Zobrist is really slow turning the DP.
  3. Thomas Bryant staying in school! Him and De'Ron Davis will be quite a tandem inside. I am going to assume that Troy Williams comes back also, hope he brings some consistency with him. If he does, Blackmon comes back strong, and Johnson can take over some of Yogi's leadership role at the point....this team could be even better than the team that just finished 9th and lost to the national runner-up, despite losing one of the most prolific players in school history.
  4. Beasley and Floyd would make the Falcons awfully small on the edges. I'm going Darron Lee at ILB for team speed.
  5. Clearly it's going to be Montero.
  6. http://web.usabaseball.com/article.jsp?ymd=20140404&content_id=70900998&vkey=news_gsa HOO HOO HOO.....
  7. Doesn't have his nastiest stuff. Still better than everyone else.
  8. Dolphins are hoping Elliott or one of the top CBs falls. I don't love Mackenzie Alexander, so... Dolphins select OT Jack Conklin, Michigan State.
  9. The Bears still have well over 20M in cap room with only like 6-7M needed for the draft. I'd like to see Bolden get a shot at the nickel. He was a CB in college and hasn't seen the field very much as a safety.
  10. I'm not sure things are so dire. While the pack around here is a little closer, I think you're best going with your favorite pick unless you get just a great offer. I'm not sure who would be looking to jump up though. Maybe someone in the late 1st who wants Lynch, looking to bypass LA at 15? Buffalo at 19? NY at 20? Maybe Jerry goes nuts and trades up from 34 (assuming no QB at 4). Although that'd really have to be a stellar offer. Part of the thing with trading down though, is they really don't need any more picks. If they were to trade down I'd like to see them use the extra picks to move up other selections. I'd like to see them take the best player they can at 11, then trade back into the late 1st. Should only take the 2nd and a 4th round pick based on history. And they have an extra 4th from the Bennett trade. My ideal draft would have Buckner falling to 11 (and it could happen if the Ravens don't take him at 6) and then trading back up with say, KC and picking William Jackson III, CB from U of Houston. Longshot for both of those guys to be there, but it's possible.
  11. I'll take Floyd's upside over Lawson's stability. I don't know why.
  12. I'll take Bryce Harper IV, since this draft is apparently 90 years in the future. Edit: This is not a real pick.
  13. Ramsey. Because he makes the team better than any OL would. Tunsil's the better player but they don't have a bad LT in Taylor Lewan. Diminishing returns on taking another good OT.
  14. I'll take Ian Happ
  15. Exactly how I felt about the IU/UNC game. It kinda sucks, 2 of the last 3 years when IU has had teams that could feasibly be Final Four caliber, they ran into the likely eventual champions in UK in 2014 and UNC this year in the Sweet 16. I don't think IU this year could have beaten any of the teams that will be playing next weekend, but I feel they could have beaten all the teams that lost the last 2 days, though all would have been extremely competitive and I'm hypothetically including a healthy Robert Johnson.
  16. I'll take another team or two. I don't care which ones.
  17. Well, at least IU gets the [expletive] rim in the 2nd half. 31% shooting team going 7-7 before their first (and only) miss from 3, seems legit, with 3 of them bouncing in.
  18. So, if/when the Cubs make the World Series......who in the Chicagoland area is going to let me sleep on their couch for a week when I'm not camping out on Waveland Avenue?
  19. Probably not. Leno probably isn't good enough, but Clady isn't a guarantee to be better.....because he's not a guarantee to be able to actually play after 2 ACLs in 3 years. Clady has a 9.5M cap hit this year and 10M next year. It's not guaranteed money though. But, he'd have to restructure before a trade could happen. Denver probably wants something not insignificant for him. Most I'd give up is a conditional 5th/6th in 2017. I'm guessing he'll be cut eventually. At that point, I'd definitely be interested on a 1-year deal.
  20. HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS! Good win. One of the few I called on my bracket! WOOOOOOOO!
  21. OG Anunoby is the difference in this team in the 2nd half of the season. Hustle, defense, rebounding, versatility, ability to knock down an open shot. Wouldn't even be on the floor if not for the Blackmon injury. Reminds me so much of a young Oladipo.
  22. Yep. I had Mich St as champions.
  23. I wanted to talk so much trash on Facebook, but was afraid to with the IU game following. All good now. Yogi with 20-10. Bench went 15-18 from the field with 37 points. Bring on the Goddamned Cats!
