Actually, NC, I picked the highest spot in the order possible, which was better for you. If I had done the best thing for myself I would have gone last in the first round. It was only one spot, but I think we should go on the principle of the thing. :D

An honest question more than a swipe at BA, but Billek made 8 starts at Peoria this year and put up the following numbers... 37.2 IP, 33 H, 6 HR, 10 BB, 25 K, 4.06 ERA If he's fully developed, shouldn't he have had a little less difficulty with HRs and Ks against Low-A ballers? They said he's fully developed, they didn't say he was good!

By the press he's getting this winter, I thought that Furcal would win easy. After all, can't he field three grounders at the same time? All while rescuing babies from burning buildings?

Seriously, what are you going to do with not only HBC, but also Alamo and Scorcho. They're both way, way over on points at this time.

Yeah, I thought Clement was gonna have a huge year in Boston. I need some major sleepers in this draft. I believe Tim drafted his entire staff last season, and ended up with great pitching. I kept Burnett last year because he only cost me around 150 points. BTW - the #1 draft pick got much younger today. ;)

With Mazzone going to Baltimore, I thought for sure you'd keep Bedard over Perez.

They've got this Mark Teixeira kid that might turn into a decent hitter. :D Then they could trade for Delgado and be monstrous on the IF. Teixiera, eh? Never heard of him. :P Seriously, though, if they wanted to trade for Delgado wouldn't they use Blalock for those purposes, rather than deal him for some relatively unproven pitchers from us and then have to deal more players for Delgado? It depends on the approach they want to take. If I were GM and my my goal was to compete with Anaheim and Oakland in 2006, I'd look to: 1. Deal Soriano for pitching, move Young back to 2B 2. Sign Furcal to play SS and be a huge upgrade to the defense 3. Sign a free agent innings-eater that has a demonstrated ability to keep the ball in the park I'd personally try to hold on to the young pitching they have in Diamond, Volquez and the other one. That guy is good. His name looks cool on his jersey, too :P Hey, shoot me. I'm too lazy to look up the third best pitcher in an AL team's system. :D

If we do sign Furcal, I hope that Hendry investigates Arizona as a destination for Cedeno. I know they have Stephen Drew and eventually Justin Upton at SS, but I can't believe they want to go with Royce Clayton for another year. If we could create a package for them, they have a lot of very interesting pieces. I still see them as the Cubs best trading partner this offseason. -

So far, there are no huge building blocks available at #1 that a team could be built around for a while. At this point, I'm looking to take two guys with the #1 and #3 picks that combine for around 78 years of age!

Makes it harder to plot how to spend those 4 picks in the top 17. :D

BTW - after the trade with Raw, I have Oswalt instead of Berkman and Verlander instead of Cedeno. I'm still under on points by a pretty good margin.

New Error Message With New Server

No promises here, but this is something to try. 1) locate your Firefox install (c:\program files\mozilla firefox is the default) 2) Open the file \defaults\profile\prefs.js 3) Add a new line with the following text: user_pref("network.prefetch-next",false); 4) save and close that file, then reload Firefox. That will stop precaching within firefox and will hopefully prevent the errors you are getting. Obviously, if that doesn't work, then open that file and remove that line. Sorry about the issues, but hopefully, this will work.
