  1. I'm at a customer site today, so I'll have to read it later. Can someone post links to social media for me? Duke's work deserves all the attentions!
  2. Anyone have any other thoughts on why Addison's strikeout rate has remained so high when his contact % has improved so much?
  3. Hey, Leathersich got game action, too. He could be another good lefty option for the pen in the second half.
  4. I wonder if we eventually get to the point where Contreras plays 3B on days where he doesn't catch. I'm starting to be a big believer in the bat.
  5. I'm looking forward to reading this. I'm working on something right now that should be up tonight or tomorrow morning, too. Excellent! Can't wait to read it.
  6. I put up a new article. There were some definite factors driving Addison's slump. Almost all of them have gotten back to normal over the past couple of weeks, though there are still some concerns.
  7. viewtopic.php?p=13783#p13783 Bonus points for calling the month.
  8. I've made a few more refinements and added a bunch of player names. Let me know if you want any more names added (or guys like Skulina taken off). I'm trying to decide on whether there should be a minimum number of players ranked for me to accept the form. I think it should be at least the top 10 guys for an entry to be valid, but perhaps I should require at least 20. What think you all? Also, I have the world's simplest list up now to show who has made entries on what date. I'll start working on that analysis and display once I finish the entry form.
  9. Another game where Jake's pitch count builds up early
  10. A bit more done today... I now have things set up so that: 1) you can drag and drop your choices from one column to the other 2) you can sort within the ranking column to put them in order 3) you can submit it to the database to be saved! 4) each IP is limited to one vote per day 5) if you want to overwrite your previous entry for the day, there is a checkbox that allows you to do so 6) the name is now a required field 7) I've cleaned up the return messages based upon what happens on the back end Enhancements remaining: 1) Show statistics based on inputs in the database 2) create the complete list of players to choose from 3) add a field to the player database to show when players become eligible for the list and when they lose eligibility 4) Filter the player list based on the eligibility 5) Find a way to get rid of the placeholder value once a player is added to the ranking list Please, try it out and give me your feedback!
  11. Does Pierce Johnson count?
  12. You're kinda missing the point here.
  13. Progress!!! I now have things set up so that: 1) you can drag and drop your choices from one column to the other 2) you can sort within the ranking column to put them in order 3) you can submit it to the database to be saved! Enhancements remaining: 1) Limit each IP to one vote per day 2) If the post is successful, present the results in a nicer manner and disable the submit button 3) Show statistics based on inputs in the database 4) create the complete list of players to choose from but, hey, progress!
  14. huh...well, there you go.
  15. Where? When?
  16. I don't think this is coincidence. There's a reason they've picked out the guys they have. I'd be willing to bet they've developed some sort of algorithm that's helping them focus on starting pitchers with a very low injury probability and damned if it's not working pretty well so far. IIRC, when Theo & Co. first got here wasn't one of the things they said that was a market inefficiency that they were going to put lots of time, money, and research into was how to maintain healthy players and keep them off the DL as much as possible? I believe so, yes.
  17. btw - I'm willing to deal with Chapman being a dick for a few months if he comes cheap. It would be awfully fun to watch Strop/Rondon/Chapman at the end of games.
  18. I think there are going to be options out there that don't cost as much. The media keeps focusing on the Yankees because, well, because NY. But there will be guys out there like Doolittle that should cost much less and add depth to the bullpen nearly as effectively. Oh, also, if I haven't mentioned it yet, sign Greg Holland without giving up any talent to get him.
  19. An aggregate score of something like 26-4 would be cool.
  20. What's the record for consecutive HR to begin a career? It can't be more than two, right? It shall be Willson's.
  21. The Pirates also have outfielder Austin Meadows at AAA. If they go this route, it might be easier to trade McCutcheon in the offseason, move Marte to center and call up Meadows when he's ready. Yeah, I was going to say this, too. I could see them moving Cutch at some point soon, whether it is at the deadline or the offseason. If they fall far enough back before the deadline, I could see them doing it sooner as opposed to later. They aren't giving in on next year, they're just reloading.
  22. Bueller?
  23. Also, chicken littles, take solace; the Cards lost against a much lesser team today.
