  1. Robot umps. Robot umps. Robot umps. Robot umps. Robot umps. Robot umps.
  2. We really need to fire our advance scout that does the reds.
  3. That was a very generous call to strike out Cozart.
  4. That was actually a pretty nice route to that ball by Contreras.
  5. Well, It might still be at the plate. But it might just be a more consistent version of his 2000 self at the plate where he hit .284/.404/.604 and was a positive defender for a total of 8.2 WAR
  6. I go back and forth on how I'd approach all this. And it is all based on what is required from other teams in return for guys like Doolittle, Miller, Chapman, etc. Here's my general thought process: - I'm perfectly comfortable with Rondon / Strop at the back end of the pen - As long as relievers are good vs R+L, I really don't care which arm they throw with - We're going to get through the regular season just fine even if we don't make any moves - In the playoffs, the middle relievers don't matter nearly as much as you're going to be able to plug in Hammel / Hendricks there anyway - So in 2016, we really just need one additional back end guy to shorten the game that much more - We definitely need to think forward to 2017 and beyond for the pen, as well We could trade a big package to get Miller (assuming he even becomes available). That addresses that third dominant reliever for this year and the next couple. Going after Doolittle is kind of the redneck version of that (not as good, bigger injury risk), but would come a lot cheaper. It seems to me, though, that it might be more effective to do this in two parts. Chapman will be a whole lot cheaper than Miller and might be cheaper than Doolittle. He certainly solves all the problems for 2016. Then go out and sign Holland and you likely have added that elite reliever for the next several years (and perhaps another one for 2016 if the rumors of him coming back in August are true). My fear is that the Yankees relievers never come onto the market. If that's the case, In addition to those guys not being there, the cost of trading for all the rest of the guys out there will go up a lot.
  7. Would you trade Torres for a Chapman rental?
  8. I mean, I'd be thrilled to trade Torres and Vogelbach for Miller. That gives the Yankees a "high end" piece in Torres and an immediate piece in Vogelbach. I don't think they'd go for that, though.
  9. If Doolittle is not enough and we're very unlikely to get Miller for him, what would be the right target where Torres is the main piece?
  10. Just curious, where did you find that? I don't see WAR on the FG live stats. Related: I am drunk. I compared the live stats to the non-live stats and subtracted.
  11. I'd certainly still pick Benintendi having the higher floor. but Happ is catching up to him as a prospect.
  12. Also, Happ had 4 errors in his first 5 games this year. Three since.
  13. Also, Jake has been good for 0.7 WAR so far this year. At the plate.
  14. Wow, I guess Jorge's career has been a lot more awesome than I thought. I exaggerated a little. He's actually been worth 0.7 fWAR. However, even though it was a magical night for Kris, nothing compares to playoff dongs against the Cardinals. For some reason, that made me feel a pang for Schwarbs being dead.
  15. Also known as: Jorge Soler's career value. Wow, I guess Jorge's career has been a lot more awesome than I thought.
  16. Bryant was worth 0.6 WAR. Today.
  17. So...I bumped up both Vogelbach and Happ a couple spots in my rankings. The Vogelbach one was an overdue adjustment. He has been mashing like you'd expect a 1B/DH prospect to mash for a while now. With Happ, I'm giving him at least temporary credit for this start to AA. My opinions of Eloy and Gleyber haven't changed at all. But this run by Happ has been unreal.
  18. Through 3IP, the Eugene pitcher has allowed no hits, no walks and has struck out six.
  19. Fun stat: Zobrist is having a great year with an .862 OPS. Arrieta is at .868.
  20. Peralta is better against lefties.
  21. Yeah, that's the problem. The k's will be there. He won't walk a ton. But there will be dingers (opponents hr are not dongs)
  22. Well, crap. I think he might actually have avoided it again.
