  1. 2-3 against one of the toughest pitchers in the league. Darwin Barney was probably awesome against someone too. Look, not trying to pile on the guy, but does he have a nagging injury or is this is ceiling? When Fowler gets back I'd rather he not bat 2nd in this lineup. You're asking if a guy with his track record has this as his ceiling?
  2. Have I ever mentioned my irrational disdain for Travis Wood?
  3. I think Jorge still has star hitter in him. Those glimpses he shows are so tantalizing. He was on a pretty good tear when he got hurt, too. http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?playerid=14221&legend=1&stat=woba&split=base&time=game&ymin=&ymax=&start=2016&end=2016&rtype=single&gt1=15
  4. That's what people say about Rizzo all the time.
  5. When someone asks what value Mark Zagunis might have if he pans out, think of Yelich.
  6. The major league qualified leader in UZR/150 is Kevin Pillar at 32.8 (Heyward is 3rd at 30.8). In a 96 inning sample so far, Almora is more than double that at 67.8. I think it's pretty safe to say that his defense is as good as advertised. Actually, this would make a pretty fun article, too.
  7. I think you could get a fair amount of help for a combination of Eloy, Gleyber, Happ, Cease, Candyman, Zagunis, Caratini, McKinney & Vogelbach. But let's face it - anyone dealing high end pieces to the Cubs is going to want at least one of Javy, Soler, Almora or Schwarbs.
  8. Vogeldong, too, but not off De Leon.
  9. On the bright side, Joe can run the rookie bullpen guys out there to get a better look at what he's got.
  10. I never would have guessed that Bour would become such a threat at the plate.
  11. That was a nice take by Javy on 2-1. It was a strike, but hard to do anything with. Another sign of an improved approach from him.
  12. blind squirrel, nut, etc.
  13. I count three: Baez, Bryant & Contreras. Dude is starting at his third position in his eighth game.
  14. Thanks! I'll add any names people want added. Ian Rice, please. :-) Done!
  15. I have a new article up about Willson. That oppo home run is not alone. His spray chart is almost entirely up the middle and oppo so far.
  16. Thanks! I'll add any names people want added.
  17. Okay...There's a lot more to play with on this page now.
  18. The page to look at the entries is now functional. So now you can go there and laugh that I'm starting to put Jose Albertos into my top 30 already.
  19. It's on Twitter Oops. I should have left it to the professionals.
  20. Duke, great article, as always. As I posted in the comments there, the increase in Javy's Z Contact % has been staggering. Time to post these to social media...
