  1. What is the record number of Z's on a single roster?
  2. Please don't post Getty images, even with the watermark. They are brutal about takedown requests. For that matter, please apply this to all copyright material. Thanks!
  3. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/articles/cubs-articles/38-disregard-arrieta-s-performance-last-night http://www.northsidebaseball.com/articles/cubs-articles/35-what-s-wrong-with-jake
  4. I'd be all for trading Candelario, Almora, Happ, etc (not Eloy) for some pitching. But given the attrition rate of SP, I do not at all like the idea of trading a potentially very good major league hitter for a "just in case" pitcher or someone we hope stays healthy and effective for 2018.
  5. So would you plan to go with a six man rotation all year? If not, who would you kick out for next season? Maybe nobody. Pitching depth is a thing, plus 3/5th's of the rotation are likely gone after next season. What, is it crazy to suggest they trade for a pitcher who *GASP* maybe doesn't start the 2017 season in the starting rotation? So you're going to trade Soler for a minor leaguer? Better be a damn good one. Or two.

  7. Has it been that long since they played the Cubs?
  8. Let's say we landed Vesey. We probably have to promise a top two line spot to him to get him. What would the lines look like at that point?
  9. Also, in many cases you'll be using Zobrist as a table setter for those dongsmiths later in the lineup.
  10. I'm certainly willing to consider a trade of either Javy or Jorge for young pitching in the offseason. But I doubt the other teams would be willing to give up the pitchers I would want for either one of them.
  11. Good to see Edwards come back with a strong outing
  12. This chart for Jorge is hilariously awesome: http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?playerid=14221&legend=1&statArr=50&split=base&time=game&ymin=&ymax=&start=2016&end=2016&rtype=single&gt1=15
  13. What? Tim's gotta be a good half a bottle to the wind at this point. half?
  14. I wonder why Bryant didn't go to third there.
  15. I wonder if they'll even bother picking up his option at this point.
  16. but I thought Javy couldn't hit right handers.
  17. ugh - Ross got two great pitches to hit to start that ab.
